I just took the latest Signal update on my Android Pixel 3XL running Android 10 with Jan/20 security updates.
Since Signal updated, I am no longer receiving text messages on my Charge 3. They were working perfectly fine previous. All my other notifications work fine. If I change my default SMS app to Textra, that also works fine. It just doesn't work with Signal. (Wife has a Versa 2 and exact same phone / config and her Signal texts *do* go to her Versa 2)
I have tried the following:
- reboot Charge 3
- removed Fitbit app, restarted Pixel, reinstalled Fitbit app
- removed Signal, restarted Pixel, reinstalled Signal
Nothing so far has worked.
Is anyone else experiencing same?

Hi @JeffGWpg, It's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, sorry for the delayed reply.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the details that were shared in your post, your effort and patience with this inconvenience are appreciated. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Charge 3 are correctly configured. After verifying this, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.
Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Ricardo and thanks for your reply. I have already tried all the troubleshooting steps. I am receiving notifications on my fitbit from other apps but it's only the Signal Messenger SMS app that is no longer sending notifications. As I mentioned this used to work until what seems to be timed with an app update for Signal.
I did open a ticket with fitbit support and they generalized it as "ongoing issues with Android notifications".
I'm pretty certain something happened with the Signal update that caused this.

Version 3.8 of the Fitbit app works. Anything later doesn't, so I think it's a problem with the Fitbit app and not Signal.

Same problem on my new Versa 2. I few days ago, with the Versa 1, no problems, now no notifications from signal. I use version Fitbit-Version 3.12.1.

That is interesting...my wife has the Versa 2 and her notifications are still working from Signal.
I have version 3.13 of the app and it is still not working. I'm going to try downgrading to 3.8 and see if that fixes it for me for the meantime.

I can confirm that downgrading to 3.8 works for my Charge 3. I tried 3.12.1 first but it did not work.
Definitely an app issue.

I was able to find versions 3.8 and 3.9.1, and the breakage starts with 3.9.1. I'm not sure if there are any versions in-between and whether the breakage starts in one of them.

I just installed version 3.13, but still no notifications from Signal (no problems with Threema, Messages, WhatsApp). 😞

Guckuck, go to (file extension of android packages) mirror dot com and find the 3.8 version. Install that and turn off automatic updates in your play store until such time that Fitbit fixes the app. (You'll have to do your other updates manually but that's not really a biggie as the phone will still tell you when there are updates available)

Thank you for this advice.
Since I have only a few friends at Signal, I temporarily switched to WhatsApp. Maybe they fix this in the future.

I just received my Versa 2 and all the notifications are working except for the Signal notifications 😢

Yeah it's a weird one...my wife's Versa 2 is still working with the current Fitbit app. As posted earlier in this thread you need to manually install the 3.8 version which you can find on that mirror site. Just google the acronym for "Android Package" mirror. I can't post it specifically here as they block the words / letters 😛

Yeah, this is quite disruptive to users who utilize Signal for SMS and other messaging. Quite a few people I know are using it for that.

I was also having the problem with Signal - just updated the Fitbit app on my phone & tested and (to my surprise) it worked perfectly first time; the notification came through immediately.
(Tested Whatsapp as well just to make sure that wasn't broken in exchange but it still works fine too 🙂

Ok Fitbit...let's not break Signal again, k?

It does not seem to work on my Fitbit, what am I doing wrong? 😭
I have version 35.70.7.21 installed but I am still not receiving any notifications.
