Fitbit Update: 5/3/18
Hi, everyone!
We released to 100% the next Fitbit for Android app update: 2.71. In this app version, we released the fix for this notifications issue. Please update your app!
You will see a new option in your Notifications Settings that reads "Vibration Settings," which is where you can toggle on/off if you want to receive notifications when your phone is set to Do not disturb or Silent mode.
I'm glad we could get this resolved for you all! Your patience was really appreciated.
Fitbit Update: 4/23
Hi all - Our team is currently working on a fix so you all can get your notifications back whenever in "Silent mode."
I don't know when the fix will be released but I will let you know once I have that information available. Thanks for your patience! Sounds like many of you are using the workaround to just put your phone on vibrate to the lowest setting. I appreciate everyone helping each other out and making suggestions for the time being.
Updated: 4/20
Hi, everyone!
Our team is aware of this Notification issue when you put your Android device in Silent mode. This began with the last app version 2.70.
If your phone is on Silent mode, notifications will not reach your watch/tracker. If you have silent mode off, your notifications will be received.
I will provide updates on this problem here. Please stay tuned! Thanks so much for your patience.

Dear Mods,
Can we have the option to choose on the Fitbit ?
Then it wouldnt depend on the phone.
Some users want to be notify when the phone is silent, some dont.
If we can also choose by time, that would be perfect.

I'll try this. It's really annoying not being able to receive notifications when the phone is on silent, thats a big part of what fitbit does! I only noticed this yesterday, hope it gets sorted soon, I have a charge 2.

First it was the calls now the messaging. Yea fitbit guys please update this...having my phone on "vibrate" in the my workplace is not professional, at least with my fitbit I could have stopped it from vibrating. I cant take my phone out just like that in my workplace...please hurry with update. Not feeling my fitbit right now.

Well this explains why I've been missing calls. I nearly gave up wearing my Fitbit recently when the sync stopped working (only fixed by reset and reinstall). Nearly stopped wearing it again because I assumed my Fitbit was basically on out the way out as notifications had stopped working. I've had such a poor experience recently that my it doesn't make me very likely to upgrade to another one. Hoping for a fix soon!

Thanks @AlessFitbit. I hadn't seen that about the list of supported devices. I should point out that the OnePlus One is ancient though, and they've sold far larger numbers of their newer devices.
Anyway in my experience my Ionic works perfectly with my OnePlus 5, with the sole exception of not sending notifications when on silent (both before and after the recent update).

@fredegar Well, I'm glad to hear that! This next app update should fix that for you.
As I mentioned before, our team has identified a fix and I will confirm in this thread once it has been released. Thanks, everyone!

I have an Alta and I have the same issue since the last update. Hopefully they'll fix it for all devices soon as it's a really poorly thought out amendment

Hi, @Mumma_Toy.and others, Fitbit is working on correcting this, which is an issue with an Android app. In the meantime the work around is to set yourphone at the lowest vibration level.
You can get updates by following this thread
Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

Still not fixed

Why not just bring it back to how it was? This was a huge benefit to having a fitbit that I could keep my phone on silent and still be up to date on calls and texts. I have missed calls and not noticed texts for hours now. This sucks

How can something that impacts so many people not have been tested before it was turned into an update? I bought my fitbit for that feature. If this can not be fixed very quickly, I want a refund so I can buy another device that will give me that feature.

This needs to be fixed immediately. I can't have my phone on vibrate or the ringer on, and it defeats the purpose of using my fitbit for notifications. It has been almost a week since this ridiculous issue started and needs to be remedied asap!
