Fitbit Update 06/15/18: This issue has been resolved with the release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.73. If you're still experiencing issues receiving notifications from the Message+ app, I recommend confirming that you're updated to the latest app release and following our notifications troubleshooting tips provided in this help article.
I am closing this thread as the issue has been resolved. If you begin to experience this issue again at a later time, please create another post in the Android Community Forum and reference this thread. Thank you for your continued patience as we worked to get this resolved.
Fitbit Update: 6/13/2018
New version 2.73 has been fully released to all our Android users and you should be able to update your Fitbit app. We have released a fix for Message+ and Signal App notifications.

Hi, everyone!
I noticed many of you reporting that you no longer receive your Message+ notifications to your Versa/Ionic after the Fitbit OS 2.1 update.
We've escalated this issue to our team for investigation. For the meantime, I recommend using the default texting app on your Android device or any other messaging apps.
When I have more information, I'll provide that here. Thank you!

I’ve had that issue since the update. It’s like the messages etc were written in disappearing ink!
Best AnswerI received all notifications before update. Did the restart as you instructed and still do not get notifications. I have a Samsung s6 smg920v, version 7, 2.71. I need a resolution soon as I have a few days to return product if needed. If it will not send notifications I do not need it.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Tell me, are you able to receive other Notifications (text, calendar, apps)? Are you using an Android phone or an iPhone? Have you restarted your phone and Versa by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen?
If you have tried that already, please reply to me with the phone model you're currently using and the app version (go to Account > Help to get it) currently installed in your phone. That will be very helpful for me to check this further and determine which troubleshooting steps should we take next.

As previously noted by others on this thread, the free Fit Notifications app on Google play will allow you to continue using Verizon Message+ for your text messages AND will forward notifications to your Fitbit. Working now on my Ionic, good workaround until the next firmware update. No reply function however.

Best AnswerI have a Samsung Galaxy with the ionic. Notifications are not updating and I get a error about fitbit.com being down for maintenance. This has been since the update.

Best AnswerSame here. The main reason I purchased fitbit versa was for the text option. After the update everything but text. Guess they are trying to push me to Apple! 😞

I'vee tried all imaginable different settings and sollutions, and FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK on Ionic, using HuaweP10 and the Signal Private Messenger set as default text app.
For it to work, the text app needs 2 unread texts, from 2 different contacts.
I opened the Android standard text app, and send a text of an Emoji to myself (still having Signal Private Messenger set as default text app, on both phone+Ionic).
This text from myself is kept as unread, at all times, and text notificationes now works like a charm👍
Posted this, in the hope of it to work for other users, despite our differences in phones and text apps.
Hi I have reverted back to my default texting app and the only thing I receive on my Versa is a notification saying i have messages but I can't read them at all or quick reply.
Best AnswerSo your text notifications are now coming through using Message +? As I’ve done all the troubleshooting plus uninstalled the Versa and reinstalled it like it is brand new to me & it still won’t receive text notifications and all my other notifications come through but will clear from the Fitbit before I have a chance to review them or clear them myself. Calling customer service was of no help. Basically wanted me to do everything I had already done all over again. And then stated I need to wait until the next app. update is released, probably in a week or so...
