Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

There is nothing you can do to resolve this issue (I dont think). When Fitbit becomes aware there is a problem affecting many people, yes they work towards fixing it. This one is annoying, but not a biggie as you can still find the step total by tapping the step tile and then tapping today. But it will be nice to get it fixed

I have looked into the Garmin, it's what my fiance uses. I'm disappointed because out work gets us discounted Fitbit. I guess now I know why they are discounted

I've had this same problem, with step count and heart rate on my Samsung Galaxy S8+.  It started right after a system update yesterday morning (Saturday) and has been like that all day yesterday and so far today.  I like having the app open during workouts to monitor heart rate and keep track of steps, so I'm eager to get this functionality back, if anyone has any suggestions.

Ah. That's a good thought.

Well, I've just bought this (April) so no upgrade for me till this dies. Bad Fitbit company.

I am using an Android smart phone and have been using Charge 2 since October 29, 2017. So far so good.

However, since August 11, 2018 (2 days ago), the number of steps tracked are no more displayed on my "Dashboard". It is displayed elsewhere though.

I've tried restart my phone and Charge 2. The problem remains unsolved.

Please show how to overcome the problem. Thanks.

Good morning.  After experiencing this issue with my Charge 2 for the last 3-4 days, I finally got into this forum to see if others were having the same issue.  I have a Samsung Galaxy 8, and this is my second Fitbit.  My step number on the dashboard has been at zero for the last 3.5 days.  Today, I followed the directions to force stop the app, shut down my phone, then restart.  All was good, and the steps showed on the dashboard briefly (until the Sync performed), then went back to zero.  As all others have said, steps do show in the graph but do not show on the dashboard.  Since others have the same thing going on, at least I know it isn't just 'me', lol.  Hope it gets fixed soon.  I don't always exercise with my phone, so is frustrating a bit to get back to my car and not see my miles.

This started for me too yesterday  after the app updated. I have rebooted my phone & Versa, turned off bluetooth, turned on bluetooth,  removed my Versa from the app, reset it up, logged out of app, logged into app, turned on all day sync. I feel it is the app, not my tracker. Hopefully this will be addressed  soon with an app update?

Him I'm a new Fitbit owner. I have set up my Samsung S8 to sync to my Charge2.  Its accuratly showing:

Floors, KM and Minutes but isn't showing cals or steps, it shows the previous days total and sometimes, when I open the app it shows the steps for a few seconds, does a sync and it then reads 0.

I have the app on a Samsung Tab as well and it works fine, also the dashboard on fitbit.com is reading correctly, so its just my phone that isnt,

I have tried:

Restarting the phone

Restarting the Fitbit

Turning of the WiFi

Turning of the data

Turning of the Bluetooth

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Forums  @KushtyRye

Thanks for bringing this up. I have a couple of questions about this situation:

  • Is it happening on the web Dashboard or on a version of the Fitbit app?
  • Could you share some screen shots of what you are seeing?
  • When did this start happening?

In the meantime, I'd recommend that you try to log out of your account and then back in. That should force the Dashboard to reload all of the information from our servers.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
