Fitbit Update 04/05/2016, 12:02 PM: It sounds like our engineering team has a fix in place and it should be making it's way into an upcoming release sometime soon! I will confirm when I find out which exact release it is coming in.

Thanks for your continued patience! I'm waiting to share my bike rides on Instagram too! Robot Very Happy

Fitbit Update 03/31/2016, 12:13 PM: Our team is still working on getting this issue resolved. The fix will be included in an app update that should be coming soon. Once I can confirm which release you will be seeing the fix in, I will make sure to share the update with you all here.

Thanks for your continued patience and to everyone who has reported the issue and made me aware about it. Looking forward to sharing a new update with you all when I hear more.

Fitbit Update 02/03/2016, 01:25 PM: We're aware of an issue where exercise sharing on Android crops out the activity statistics when attempting to share.

The expected behavior is that you're able to share a picture along with activity statistics as seen below on the left. Instead of the image with statistics, you're sharing an image like on the right with no stats.

Our engineers are currently looking into the root cause of this and will be providing me with an update. Once I hear that update, I will make sure to make you all aware.

Thanks to everyone who has reported this. Looking forward to sharing updates soon!

@dorst622 Nope, I can confirm that the fix isn't in 2.22. It should be coming in an upcoming release, but I will make sure to update everyone here when it is pushed out.

What is the delay on this?

It was first mentioned that engineers were looking into the problem on 3rd February, two and a half months ago! Then on the 31st March it was mentioned that the team were still working on geting the issue resolved. Then a week later on the 5th April apparently it 'seemed like the engineers had a fix in place'.

What's the latest excuse update?

3 months now and no fix seems to be in sight.  I know for the Fitbit techs this might seem like "Not a big deal", but for those of us who use this feature it's a big determent.  What is taking so long??

Agreed. It's unforgivable.

Fitbit/moderator. It's time to tell us if this can be fixed or not rather than promising it will be and the end users like ourselves in this group who have not been able to share precious moments as shown anticipate a fix. Is upper management even aware of this or is it being handled by an incompetent IT dept? I called fitbit recently on another situation and asked about the fix for this problem, it was horrible the person on the other end was not even aware or understood what I was talking about. He said would look into it and call me back. It's been a week and no one has called back yet...DISAPPOINTED..

Corporate subterfuge wins again. We want answers not a bunch of lip service. This is the problem with corporations, their solutions departments are an afterthought to selling a product to get vastly wealthy. They are not here to help anyone but themselves. Either tell us something or we, the public, will expose your incompetence and make sure nobody else buys a Fitbit and has to go through this complete and utter inane nonsense.

Thanks. Sounds like some progress is being made. I still don't see why a photo is required though?

It would be nice if you could post stats without a picture, similar to apps like Runtastic where it shows map plus data.

Sorry, what is it that's been fixed? I've just updated Fitbit app and it still wants a photo? Wasn't this the fix?

@MsSpammy, the problem was that it was only posting a pic and not the stats.

@mfullererie, You should be able to pull a pic from your saved pics on your phone. I'm not sure on how it works on other people's phone, but on my after you hit the share icon, on the bottom there should be 3 icons. The camera button for me is in the middle.  The icon on the left of the camera icon connects to my saved photos.  I just use a photo from there, I have one that I took one day on a walk.  🙂

Why does it need a pic at all? I'd rather it post the map of my route instead but I'm not going through the rigmarole of screenshotting. I'll stick with strava for sharing exercise then.

Agreed. No one wants to see my sweaty mug after a run - not even me!
