Rounded running times after syncing

Fitbit used to give exact running times when looking at map of a run. Now it rounds time up or down. How do I go back to exact times?

Sorry, it matters to me and many others.  Just new to Fitbit (Versa 3).  This should be basic functionality.  Back to STRAVA and phone I guess when it comes to runs.

Its been 12 months since the issue was logged. I'd advise you to move on to another brand. They dont care and have stopped updating us on the issue. Im using garmin. The difference is as you'd expect.

I agree they don't get how important a 10 second imp is on a pb or how imp on the start line the GPS finds you whilst my buds on apple and garmin are instant. Also on the fact same run 3 times a week the height gain and finish distance is different every time. Fitbit is just marketing bling and absolute **ahem**e as a tracking aid. Such a shame back to garmin and every one else I meet will be warned 🤬

Wow, so still nothing? I was hoping it was just a setting that needed changing, but apparently not?

Apparently fitbit are to rally ignoring this which says to me they are
happy to produce toys and not aids to runners or any other sportsperson.
Def garmin for me next time.

As this is only an issue on Android I have to assume that Fitbit is now geared to the Apple market. Really poor and they've known about the issue for about 18 months. I like my Fitbit Ionic but not prepared to be treated like a second-class citizen. They still haven't given a reply for why this is an issue to fix.

@RichardM456, given Fitbit is now owned by Google I'm having a real difficult time wrapping my brain around your comment suggesting Fitbit is now geared to the Apple market.

Fair comment and yet the issue has been with us for over 18 months. It was introduced by an update and yet, with all the other updates we've received since, this hasn't been fixed. So frustrating that no one at Fitbit listens or even cares.

You can find an accurate run time in ELEVATION on android fitbit app. Hope this helps.

@SunsetRunner not true. Each chart shows different time. From my yesterday's run Elevation shows 1:13:33 but Heart Rate 1:13:40. Which one is correct then? Now, on Android by tapping pencil icon and going into Edit mode, the duration will appears. For the run I mentioned it shows 1:13:42 so neither chart gave full duration.

Yes I noticed they are different. ELEVATION gives me the same reading as
the reading on my dashboard every time.

@SunsetRunner because probably you never bothered to check the recorded TCX file:

The correct (in agreement with what was recorded by the device and this should be the "ground truth" reference) is only Edit option.

Hi. This seems to still be a problem. When connecting to the app it will round my running time up or down. Trying ti record pbs is very hard this way. The watch does tell you but obviously doesn't keep a record. Will this be fixed or is this just how it's going to be?

@Gem182 This thread started 3 years ago. If nothing got fixed until now, it's unlikely will get fixed in the future. Another issue that Fitbit users have to learn to live with. As a workaround, tap a pencil icon to edit the activity (you don't have to edit anything, just open that view). It will show you the full duration (as in the picture I made above).

@t.parker Thanks for your input and explanation.

@Gem182 Welcome to the forums. Thanks for reaching out about the running times and splits. This is how the app currently works. You can use the workaround like @t.parker explained. That way you can get more accurate data. Thanks again for taking the time to bring this to our attention. I will report this again and let you know once I get more information.

I haven't found any resolution other than the workaround that t parker posted. I've grown to just remember what the watch says as I pass whatever distance I set. I feel like recording and rewarding PBs is such a basic feature that any fitness app should have but for now you just have to write it down yourself unfortunately.

I just went with another brand. It's been over three years since this issue was reported. They aren't interested in finding a solution! Too busy driving their marketing campaigns. If it's still under warrantee maybe try get your money back.
