Will this phone be compatible with the Charge HR in the future and what is the issue at the moment?

There is no warning on purchase that the Fitbit Alta will not sync with

the Samsung Galaxy A3 (which I now find is an unsupported device).

Neither does it work with the Samsung tab 3 (which apparently IS a supported device. It does work with an iphone SE but that is of little use if you don't have one. Customer Service say they really want to help but have no answers. Surely a refund or information as to which(if any) fitbit device will sync would be appropriate rather than advising customers to wait and see if things change in the future or suggesting a supported device is purchased?

I'd read up that my Samsung A3 wasn't a supported device, but got a suprised last week when it suddenly started working and my Charge 2 was telling me when the phone rang or a text was received. But now it seems to have stopped working.

I've updated the Charge 2 software, turned the Bluetooth off & on again, synced but it's not had any effect.

Any ideas?

Ignore me, I'm a muppet!  Just realised I'd turned my notifications off on the Charge 2 itself. Oops!

My blaze has stopped alerting me to whatsapp, messenger and kik. It has never read my texts and there does not appear to be a samsung A3 2016 in the drop down menu or search feature so how can I make my blaze compatible with my phone now?

Hi,  I have just got a fitbit charge 2 all works with my Samsung galaxy A3 2016 bar the call and text notifications.  When will this be resolved? I have seen comments dating back to October last year and this is still a problem.

Hey there @Macrose. Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems not getting alerts for your messages. I was taking a look at the list of compatible devices and in fact, the Samsung A3 doesn't seem to be a compatible device.

I'd like to know... were you able to get notifications from this phone before? If so, I'm sorry it's not working anymore. At this point, since the device is not in the list of compatible devices, I can't guarantee that it will work properly. However, you can try the following:

-Go to your Bluetooth settings on your phone.

-Tap on your Blaze

-Hit the "Forget this device" option

-Go to the Fitbit app and tap on your tracker at the top of the dashboard

-In the tracker settings, scroll down to Notifications and enable them.

After that, try to have someone send you a message and see if you're able to receive it.

Hope this works. Let me know if you need more help!

Hi, @Alouisea! Welcome, welcome! Heart So your tracker is working with your phone except for the call and text notifications feature?

Let me know if I understood your correctly or not.

Our list of compatibility is continually being updated as our engineers finish running the test that they need to. Man Wink

Hi,

Do you know when A3 will be added to list of supported devices? Its been a year since you suggested your team is working on it?

Also it is very disappointing that your web site does not provide enough clear guidance on supported devices before buying the product. I would not have gone for fitbit if my phone was not supported!

Hi,My A3 is connected to my fitbit charge 2,  I pressed to button on the side keep it pressed and you will see notifications on or off hope this helps.

Hello there, @Alouisea@GauriMCat Tongue Thanks for being here in the Community!

As our good friend, suggested even though it is not officially compatible, some features might work just fine, so why don't you give it a try? If it doesn't work the first time you can troubleshoot it a little and see what happens. Like restart your tracker, reboot your phone and try the process again.

We do not have any updates of when the A3 will be listed, but keep and eye on it

I'll be around. 🙂

Hi GauriM,

Although the A3 is not listed, I've been using it with a Charge HR for months and it works fine. This is the A3(2016) version

Hey, @AshUnder! Thanks for joining us! Heart Have you tried to restart your tracker and follow the setup process again?

Also, doing the setup using a computer is a good alternative for this type of situation as well. Please tell me on what part of the process are you stuck?

Keep me updated! Man Tongue

Bought fitbit blaze after seller assured me that it was compatible with my Samsung A3...

But it doesn't appear to be?!

It's not on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices so it's not officially supported. However, this thread seems to suggest that some people have got it to work:

It sounds like it's worth trying the setup process but there's a risk it won't work.
