How soon do you expect the Ionic to be compatible with the new Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+?

Fitbit's answer is a crock. I've had my Samsung galaxy S9 plus for months and it worked just fine until they did an app update. Now I can't get it to sync properly.

I'm running the Nova Launcher and had difficulty syncing and getting notifications. It was much worse since the update.
Is anyone else running a launcher other than the stock one?
I'm trying out the Gear 3, but that also has its limitations. If I could design something in between, it would be perfect.

I've had my Samsung Galaxy S9 since December 2017, initially my blaze paired and was syncing properly. A couple of times it stopped syncing and some of the troubleshooting steps fixed it. But now my fitbit hasnt been able to sync to the app for at least a month and then a week ago when I charged it I lost an hour on the time which I am unable to change due to it not syncing.
I've tried every trouble shooting step there is:
- restarting the blaze
- restarting my Bluetooth
- removing the blaze from my Bluetooth and repairing
- removing every other paired Bluetooth device on my phone
- uninstalling and reinstalling the app
- removing my blaze from the app then uninstalling and reinstalling the app
And now my blaze won't finish the setup process with the app, just keeps saying try again. The S9 has been out for months how is it still not a compatible device? There is no point in me even using the device now because it's most basic function, telling time, isn't even correct.
If anyone has any other solutions out there I would be greatly appreciative! But until then there's no point in wearing it 😞

I reverted back to Fitbit app ver 2.71 using the one of many apps available to download older versions of Android apps (for some reason unable to reference the specific app it in this post...something about not permitted to do so) and turned off auto updating of my apps on my phone and now I have my Versa working again with my S9. I have not tried the latest version of Fitbit that fixed the cell data use problem as ver 2.71 didn't have that problem and I just don't have a bunch of extra time on my hands to do any further product testing right now. Of course when I say working again I mean my Versa syncs and I get all notifications. I cannot reply to emails or texts yet. Overall the Versa works fairly well with my S9 now which is much better than it being the expensive paperweight it was after the update a few weeks ago.

I totally get your frustration. I have just put my fitbit Charge 2 away. I too had the problem of the time being wrong after I charged it. Cant believe that there is not a solution for this problem. My phone is the Samsung A8, not an S9, but same problem.

Interesting that FitBit customer Service said Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus phones weren't compatible. They've been compatible until the latest set of updates.

I found this information...on Google.
To reset the blaze, you need to hold the left button and the lower right button.

Well bright side is I finally got rid of the white mark on my wrist!
Tried to do a hard reset when the time went off and now it won't even sync with my old Note 5 which IS on the compatible list. Won't sync with my tablet either and Ionic is unable to sync via computer.
Hope Fitbit enjoys my $300 that I should have spent on a Samsung. 😔

It seems that this is quite a sore spot and problem for many fitbit users. My experience with customer service and their ability to try and fix my problem was admirable. I was able to find all that info online, and explained to the person I had already done everything I could. First question should have been, what type of phone are you trying to sync to. I could easily find that info online as well. My A8...or even any Samsung 9, or S9 are not compatible. I have had my new phone for 2 months...I have not synced for 2 months...my fitbit is collecting dust!
I appreciated the offer of 25% of a new fitbit, but why would I purchase another one if it is not compatible! The solution should be, send me a new fitbit that "is" compatible with my Samsung A8. "I" shouldn't have to buy another one when mine works perfectly fine.

From February to July there is still no update so saying you take it seriously seems farfetched.

I was reluctant to use a 3rd party app, but the notifications piece was a deal breaker. Upgraded from a Samsung device to Fitbit Versa. I received one or two call notifications on the Versa the first week I used it, but never any text notifications. Would have held off on the purchase had I known I would be one of those affected as it does not seem to be a problem for all Versa/S9 users. It's working now with Fit Notifications.

I have an S9+ and I really wanted to purchase the Versa. I went on my Verizon account to purchase and the only thing that came up was the Ionic. I ended up purchasing the Ionic instead. I've been googling everywhere trying to figure out if the Versa is compatible before they ship my Ionic out. I've been hearing all types of responses. Any updates from yesterday? Does the Ionic work with the S9+?
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone!
Thanks for sharing your experiences and workarounds!
Be sure to try the steps other users share, they might help. Be sure to keep in mind that they are not official troubleshooting steps or workarounds.
On Fit Notifications, as it is not a Fitbit created or supported app we cannot vouch for it in any way. Some users have found it useful but we cannot back the app up ourselves. You are welcome to try it and share your experience with it however.
Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
