Got my S9 a couple of months ago and syncing worked perfectly. Then about a week ago it started showing zero steps yet it would show the correct number of miles. Sometimes it shows sleep correctly and sometimes it shows sleep from the day before. The odd thing is, when I go to previous days, all the information is correct. Also, if I go to the web app, everything is correct and up-to-date there. So the tracker is syncing but it won't show the information correctly on my S9. It seems incredible that Fitbit has not figured this out yet. Anyone out there having the same symptoms as I am?

When I first got my Blaze, I had a Samsung S9 Plus. Everything worked great! Then, the last two updates from FitBit ruined everything! First the sync wasn't working, then seemed to correct itself. The last update no longer allows "All-Day Sync" even though that setting is turned on. I used to be able to open the FitBit app and watch my step count increase as I walked, as well as watch my heart rate. Now, the Heart rate shows a dashed line all the time and I have to constantly manually sync to see an increase in step count. I also noticed another issue: my active minutes don't register properly anymore. I can walk consistently for 30 minutes and nothing registers. It shows up in the "Weekly Exercise" n the dashboard, but the active minutes don't register. I contacted FitBit about it and they said my "activities were not tracked since they were below the set threshold on the SmartTrack settings". What?!? These settings mean 10 minutes for walking. Yeah - I told them I had walked for 30 minutes uninterrupted. That meets the stupid threshold. So, they had me reset my Blaze. Nothing changed. Still having the same issues. I have to reset every day at least 2 to 3 times. NOT HAPPY! What did their developers do? They need to reverse whatever "improvements/changes" they introduced in the last two updates!!!! I'm kind of hoping my Blaze dies so I can go buy a tracker that actually works with its app!!

I have a brand new Samsung S9+ that would not sync with my newly downloaded Fitbit app. I deleted the app, which l am sure did nothing. But deleted my Blaze on the app, once I logged on, and it went through the general set-up, then finally it synced together. Yay. I hope this helps someone else.

Hey everyone!

Thanks to all of those that are sharing what has worked for you.

In the case of Fit Notifications, please keep in mind that it is not a Fitbit developed or supported app so we cannot guarantee its functionality and security.

Unfortunately there haven't been any updates on the matter. I'm keeping my eyes open though.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I have some kind of good news for the S9 owners. AT&T pushed out an update to the Android OS to Oreo this week and it looks like it's better with legacy Bluetooth devices. I even managed to pair my phone with my super legacy car kit.

Since updating yesterday it's been a lot better. (Still not super great but better)

I still think FitBit isn't off the hook with previous Android OSes but updating to Oreo might be a help.

I'm not sure when or if other carriers have pushed it out yet.

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner. Hello @tcraighenry.

@tcraighenry Thank you very much for that update. It'd be interesting to hear from other users on the same situation.

@SunsetRunner Unfortunately no news at the moment.

Please let me know if there are any other questions I can help with.

There was a checked box indicating that the S9 Fitbit issue had been resolved but no instructions or explanation. What's up?

Believe me, it's not resolved at all.

Hello everyone!

Some good news for all of you.

As you can see by clicking here, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ should be added to the supported devices list shortly. This means that the app should begin working with those phones very soon.

Once the phone has been added to the list, I'd recommend that you try going through the syncing troubleshooting steps again. They should help with getting your phones and Fitbits to sync properly.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Seems like fitbit isnt syncing with any phone I have Samsung s5 j7 or
s9+....

This is frustrating and needs to be fixed being that fit bits aren't cheap

Maybe fitbit has lost interest with it as it is getting end of life?

The so-called resolution is that the S9 is not on the list of phones that work with Fitbit. I mean, why should you think that a phone that millions of people own that is Samsung's flagship phone should work with Fitbit? This is ridiculous and has been going on for months. Crazy thing is, when I first got my S9 it worked.

Best Answer

Ya...this is ridiculous.  I cannot even pair my fitbit with the Galaxy 9.  The phone has been out for months!  It is unacceptable that it is not compatible with fitbit after all of these months.  I have been a big fan of fitbit, but I tired of dealing with this.
