SpO2 app is installed but Fitbit app denies

I just got my charge 6 and noticed that there's no SpO2 reading inside the app. While looking into the detail page, there's a note asking me to install the SpO2 App and if I click on it, I'm linked to SpO2 tracker app that's designated for sense 2.

This is what I see when I go to learn more:

If I reinstall the preinstalled SpO2 App, the reading shows up. This is the 2nd day it's acting like that. Any Idea why this is happening?

In the upper left corner of the Fitbit app, there's an icon that looks like
a phone and shows the Charge 6's power percentage. Tap that icon; it should
lead you to a page displaying connected Fitbit devices. Tap the Charge 6
button, and you should see an image of the Charge 6. Below the image, there
are buttons for watch faces and Apps. Tap the Apps button to see a list of
apps. On my phone, I have to scroll to the bottom to find the SpO2 button.
Tap that, and the next page should have a button labeled either uninstall
or install. Sometimes, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can fix the
issue. Also, 4 or 5 days of good sleep might calibrate the sensor and
provide readings. In July, I had 20 data points. This month, I had readings
5 days in a row, missed a day, had 2 readings, missed 2 days, and the final
reading was 2 days ago.

They throw around the term "Gallery" because on iOS phone's fitbit app the word Gallery refers to the clockface page. It doesn't appear anywhere in an android fitbit app. They also have a dedicated SPO2 clockface apparantly that we android users do not have access to so their instructions to go to the "Gallery" page and download the SPO2 "clockface" has no meaning to us.

VERY Apple biased, confusing and alienating to android users. They are giving advice that doesn't fix our app issues.

I had the same issue re: the "Gallery" icon. No where to be found on my Android.  I get it though, Google's a small, up-and-coming startup, probably short on cash to pay for decent coders.

Yep sloppy coding and they will just blame "Androids" when thousands of apps work just fine on our devices.🙄

Exactly what I am getting for my Versa 4. I bought it for the SpO2 setting
and it didn't work.

BTW StlRob Android Fitbit App version 4.50 is now available and may fix some issues. Go to the playstore and check if the update is available for you. I just updated mine (USA) and it looks different and hopefully fixes these bugs.👍

So what's the answer?  Is there a fix to this bug or do I return it to Amazon?

Thanks.

Hey thanks for taking time to respond. But what im looking for is a
continous charting of my O2 levels not a single overnight average.
Looking for periods of desaturation which may be a sign of apnea.
Thanks!

What you want is a Bluetooth o2 meter. There are a bunch on Amazon and other sites. They tend to run between $100 to $200. It's what a lot of places now use for income apnea sleep studies.

Hello @StlRob

Fitbit devices don't track SpO2 continuously. It's only tracked during sleep and generates a single score.

As @barky81 mentioned, you need a different device for continuous SpO2 monitoring.

No software updates till date for Charge 4 as claimed by Fitbit folks here. I only see scripted responses and “best answer” though.

Good day,

Could you kindly inform me if this issue has been resolved? I'm having the same issue and I bought my fitbit 4 days ago. I have the latest os version and have tried all the suggested fixes of uninstalling clock faces, restarting devices etc...

Thank you
