Yes, since mid day the app is several hundred steps behind my pixel 2 and it doesn't match when I sync. (I've also lost thousands of historical steps)

Fitbit suggested I fastboot my pixel watch.  Check on Google to do that.  Didn't seem to solve the syncing issue between my pixel watch and the fitbit app for number of Steps,.  But try to fastboot it might work for your problem.

I noticed the issue with my Pixel Watch starting on Tuesday, though it's possible it was happening before. I reached out to Google Support and they said they discovered this issue last week and are working on a fix, though no ETA at this time.

Thanks for the info.  At least I know it's not an issue with my pixel watch, as I bought it a few months ago.

Fitbit had me try everything and nothing worked to solve the issue.  At least I know it's an issue at fitbit

Thank you

Good to know.

Just to let fitbit know in my case the number of steps between the fitbit app and my WW app is showing correctly.

Just the syncing with the fitbit app and my pixel is not showing the same number

I got up this morning and saw the Fitbit app displaying cal and water but everything else like steps and sleep was all only zero - all my apps and phone have been updated all the time and checking showed no new updates were available.  After an hour I made the Android phone restart and that fixed everything, the Fitbit app is now syncing again.  The phone was fully updated originally, no new updates are applied - just restarting it fixed the problem.

The last few days, my steps had finally been properly syncing, but I just went for a walk and the issue has popped back up. Maybe it's because I had to restart my watch this morning because the watch refuses to count my steps after I wake up (that's another problem Fitbit/Google are apparently aware of), but it's frustrating that it seemed fixed and it actually isn't.

I chatted with fitbit and they said they were doing internal work which is causing the issue with counting steps.  They said they would be finished the end of Sept.  Hopefully it will show correct number of steps at that time.

Yes I've had synching issues and lost steps for 2 weeks now. I guess Google doesn't care so after being a customer for 12 years it's time to try another fitness tracker.

Hello @Debster460

The team has been actively working on fixing the issues.

Just to let you know, I saw that one of issues that might have been a factor was recently fixed. However, I'm not sure that all the issues have been resolved yet. Even if all the problems have been fixed, it could still take some time for all our data to show up in the app.

I'm also having trouble getting steps to show on my pixel watch first thing in the morning. It's like I levitate to my kitchen to get my coffee.

Hello @JenMah

Steps not tracking first thing in the morning or after prolonged inactivity is a known issue.

What works for me is restarting the Pixel Watch. Usually, I only need to restart it once a day.

FWIW, I've seen a couple of users report that Support told them an update to the Fitbit app is expected to start rolling out on 26 Sep 2024. We are also still waiting for the Pixel Watch September update. Hopefully, one, if not both, updates will fix this problem.

Thanks, that is so helpful. I start to feel like I'm not in touch with reality with my FitBit sometimes. Did I REALLY have 250 more steps on my watch than appear in the app? Then I wonder why I care because my body knows how many steps I took even if my technology doesn't count it correctly. The no steps on waking has been going on for a few weeks. Honestly, I thought I just wasn't walking forcefully enough! But I am also noticing this issue if I've been sedentary for a while (like at work or after a big hike). That the steps appear on my watch and don't ever turn up on the FitBit app is just extra annoyance.

Today is the last day of September. I'm still having this problem. Are yoU?

Hello @JenMah

The problem still exists even after the Android app update to version 4.26.1. We're waiting for the team to fix the issue.

The problem I was having with syncing steps between the Fitbit app, the Pixel 1 and my WW app has been solved on my end.  It takes a few seconds for everything to to jive.  Syncing by pulling the screen down or tapping on the number of steps in the Fitbit app, gives the correct number of steps.
