Sync Problem Solution - Samsung Galaxy S4

Hi

Since purchasing my Charge HR I haven't been able to sync it to my Samsung Galaxy S4 at all, like many people on here.

I seem to have solved the sync'ing issue between my phone and my Charge HR, it might work for other S4 owners?

I downloaded the app's 'BLE Checker' and 'Bluetooth LE Scanner' from Play Store to see if my phone was Bluetooth Low Energy enabled/capable.

I ran both apps. After running 'BLE Checker' it confirmed 'BLE Supported' so I closed the app.

I then used 'Bluetooth LE Scanner' to scan for the Charge HR - it found an 'unknown device', I tapped this and then selected 'connect', which it did.

Sync'ing then commenced without any problems.

I initially thought I'd have to run one or both apps to sync in future but the S4 and Charge HR are now sync'ing without either app running.

S4 is running 5.0.1.

Hope this helps others, if anyone else uses this procedure please post your results.

No problem, glad it worked. I have had to scan only once after posting
this information but still no problems!

Glad for michellebit!

My notifications might be belatedly coming on-line; today during a phone call my Charge HR vibrated, I'd only done about 500 steps so it wasn't a reward.

Hopefully it will start occurring more often ☺

This actually worked for me! At least it's something until fitbit gets it fixed for people with this phone- and other androids too... I'm going on vacation and this gives me hope that I can sync on demand when I go away! 😄 Thanks so much!

Still working for me, haven't had to scan for Charge HR for a couple of weeks now, S4 stays connected.

I have downloaded the ble scanner and it finds the charge but I still cannot add my device and sync...Any other suggestions?

Tap on your Charge then tap 'connect', it should then start sync'ing, make sure it's your Charge as BLE Scanner will pick up all Bluetooth devices in the local area, if you select someone else's device you'll sync with that!

It says it's connected but when I go to the fitbit app it says that they can't find it. I've done this several times and even restarts my phone, deleted the app and retried with no luck.

Have you run BLE Checker and did it confirm your phone is BLE enabled?

In BLE Scanner when you've scanned and connected does it say 'disconnect' in the top right hand corner? If it does then you should be connected to your Charge.

Also check the earlier posts in this thread regarding Fitbit version and Android build.

Thank you so much for helping me out. It's totally stumped by so-called techie husband.

The BLE scanner has its own checker, and it says "BLE enabled" when I tap "scan." Once I tap "connect," in the top right corner there appears a three-dot button that opens another button that says "disconnect."

This thread's pretty old, so I should say I'm using Fitbit version 2.11.1

One weird thing: I've connected it to the charger, then held the button until the fitbit logo appears, then disconnected the charging cable from the fitbit. This should reset the device, but I don't see any length of time when the thing seems to be turned off. Does that sound right?

I just bought the Fitbit two days ago and recently downloaded the app version 2.11.1. Ble scanner picks it up but the app cannot connect to it.

quyen mi -
The three dot symbol is for copying technical information relating to a scanned ble device and emailing it to someone else (for example for analysis), don't tap this symbol, tap the text to the right that says 'connect' directly.

To confirm my set up -
Charge HR - V84
Fitbit App - Version 2.8
Galaxy S4 Android Version - 5.0.1

With this et up everything works except Call Notifications.

WOW, Thanks for this info.I have been having issues for a long time with my Flex, so bad I bought a Charge and had the same problem.  I had to connect with the Bluetooth LE scanner a few times before it finally started working. My Charge is finally working! Thanks to all the Geeks out there who share their knowledge.
