The complaints here concerning the Fitbit won't sync, the problem started with the update.  Recently their website was down.   The problem is theirs, not your phone! It is unreasonable to give us the run around.  They need to take urgent responsibility or they will be out of business in days.  The complaints on the Google app mirror those here.  Furthermore the problems are being faced by users of other fitbits not just the charge 4.

Also using android and having the problem with sync since 4am. Cannot now pair with my fitbit charge 4

So now I have 2 useless charge4 bricks, one because my daughters followed customer service recommendations (from fitbit rep Wei Chih) that sent it into the cycle of Bluetooth not finding the device. That's $300 of useless plastic. I'm stuck with now. Customer service goes through a useless cycle of fixes that don't work and make the problem worse. Also they refuse to acknowledge that people are complaining on the forums...because my dd has a galexyA10e and not a Galaxy A10.....seriously? there cant be that much of a difference from a Galaxy A10 and A10e!

BTW there is no difference between the A10 and A10e except the case.

I too am effected by the defective 3.37 app up-date. Last sync was 11:45pm 21/1/21. Charge 4 Ver; 48.20001.9 6.29. All of the suggested tips have been followed. reset, rebooted. app reinstalled. phone restarted. cache flushed. Blue tooth driver & phone update is the latest. Have tried every thing in the community and online to get this brand new Charge 4 (27 days old) to pair since the update. Worked fine with the 3.36.1 version for the Android phone, Galaxy J3-6. and yes it is compatible its on the list. Even installed the Win 10 version on my PC. the Dashboard app can not find the tracker. Bluetooth can not find it. Also used the replace device procedure, nothing. the latest version Update appears to have shut down or disabled the trackers Bluetooth abilities. Have not removed the device as this will just cause more problems.

REFUND if you can. ONLY money will get them to listen.

Update to post.

Do A factory restart of your device in settings; erase user data.

this turn your device into a empty shell.

you should see the Fitbit logo on the screen.

do a forced stop in your App.

turn off Blue tooth.

restart your phone.

make sure blue tooth is still off.

restart your the Fitbit App.

in upper left Icon open your account & re-setup your device just like you had just got it.

App will ask to turn on Blue tooth

continue with setup. record 4 digit number that comes up in the device display. Record in App. continue with set-up.

this worked.

Not the neatest work around but it worked here.

Mine is a Galaxy J5 and I wish I'd never unpaired my Fitbit from it.
Goodness knows if this will get sorted.

When the tracker loses its connection, after opening the Fitbit app, you will be asked to approve the app to pair the tracker. A pain yes, but should not cause sync issues.

Make sure notifications are setup since this requires the tracker to be connected to the phone.

Ive had enough going to speak to John Lewis ( where I bought it from )
technical support and see if they agree to refund as its not fit for
purpose . Im sure they will already be aware of the issues .

Thank you, as I thought I was alone with this problem. I've stopped wearing my charge 4 as it does no good if I can't get it to pair with my phone. Hope someone sees this and does something to correct the app problem.

Just to confirm my Charge 4 has also been unable to Sync with my Android phone since 02.17hrs 25th January.I'm assuming this is due to the Fitbit app update mentioned by numerous other forum users.I've had no previous Sync problems since i received the device in June 2020.It would be great if someone from Fitbit Support team would at least confirm there is an issue and they are looking in to resolving it.This would provide some comfort to the many owners who appear to be effected.

And you are right in that the phones Bluetooth should not able to connect and might not even find. This can not be done,

@Rich_Laue I don't think the issues being reported in this thread are the usual syncing issues. There seems to be an issue with 3.37 affecting some devices and the usual fixes just do not work.
