Syncing issues after update

I want to see how many of us are in this community. They can't lie to us all about this in a single thread of people still having this same issue.

At this point it's ridiculous.

Go to the play store and install the latest version ( I think it was 3.65) . It seems to fix the problem for now.

Looks like even @AlessFitbit either isn't keeping up to date or is too embarrassed to announce the latest offering.

I can't tell as I am using android 5 so don't get updates or see them in playstore.

Never had issues until this week. Last synced was Tuesday 8/17/19. Keeps saying the device is not found. My battery is fully charged. I hope they come back with a solution!

Still having issues.  Fitbit has messaged me on FB and they say they are aware of the issue.  Yet it seems to me like we aren't important enough because we certainly don't get a banner like iOS did.  Secondly - when the syncing is happy, the notifications are super late.  I will get a fb message, reply and be on my third message then they suddenly roll in on the Versa.  Absolutely the worse performance I've had with fitbit since I got the Flex years ago.  #disappointing

Hi

How did you get a new one, they keep telling me they can't send a new one as it will have the same issue. But I'm sick and tired it hasn't been working for well over a month now.

Thank you

My Fitbit one was syncing for the past couple weeks after not syncing for awhile.  I thought it was fixed.  Then it was spotty the last couple days, now we are back to "no device found" and I'm forced to power up an old phone with a much older version of the app in order to sync.  I've been continuing to mess with this Fitbit until my last Stepbet finishes but after that I'm switching to Garmin.  I've already bought it and tried it out and it works great.  And the best part is I won't have to worry about buying a Fitbit approved phone...this is a quote from garmin's website and it seems reasonable in a way Fitbit doesn't seem to understand:

Android mobile operating system is used by many different manufacturers across the world.  Garmin makes a concerted effort to ensure full compatibility with most popular mobile devices.

It is compatible with my Moto g5 plus so I'll be working with Garmin from now on

As far as I'm aware there is no version 3.6.1 for Android - the latest version I can find on their site and on Google play store is 3.5 Beta (30243426) - if anyone has a link to a later version that would be handy - if it exists. The latest version for Apple IOS is 3.6.1 - which I have also installed on my Mac Mini to try and get thinks working - it's just as bad. My current theory is it was the firmware upgrade that stopped my Charge 3 working - but the release of the new app and firmware in such close time - muddies the waters.

I suspect a 3.6 version of the Android will be released soonish.

That's literally what they told me when I first started having problems, that they couldn't replace it. I didn't understand that at all, but they kept trying to blame my phone, Bluetooth, everything. Well, nothing else to blame when the device literally stops working.

I messaged them on Facebook (since I have been doing that since July and I feel like it's documented that way) and told them that my device wouldn't power on. I said it kept vibrating and then when it stopped, it wouldn't do anything. They suggested that I follow some steps to get it to start and I said listen, you don't understand... It will not come on to respond to a button press. Next thing I know they offered to replace it. So if you contact them and tell them your device won't even come on....they should offer you a replacement.

@Codfather  my Android updated yesterday to version 3.6.1, so it does exist. Maybe uninstall your version and then click to install the latest version would work for you.

Hiii

I had 2 chats with fitbit already today. Once my notifications came back
for 2-3 hours. So I already have the new one. As we factory reset the watch
did the whole process of troubleshooting. And hey it doesn't work again....

Definitely let us know how the replacement turns out! I'm trying to be
patient. But the watch is just over 2 months old and does not get
notifications for 1.5 months. 😱😱😱

I have auto updates. One minute I've got notifications and the next none...I have tried everything.  Then I found this forum. Think the update may be the cause.  So now what? My Fitbit is of no use to me without notifications of calls or texts....😬

A P.S.....my Fitbit is NEW !

Perhaps it is a country issue - as I'm based in France. Even after removal
and re-install I'm still getting the old 3.5 beta.

Ironically the Android version works better than the latest Mac Mini
version - at least I can connect it after multiple tries.

As mentioned earlier - I think the firmware upgrade has messed with the
bluetooth on the device - which is causing all my problems.

Good news. I made another clean installation Yesterday

-> App clear cache, clear data, uninstall, reboot, install (3.6.1)

-> Versa, factory reset, reboot

After the app installation, the Versa has been recognized automatically. No need to reconfigure it

Versa Firmware (32.331.30) updated through the app

Since almost 48h, the sync works. Sometimes, when the Samsung has been far from the Versa, it needs multiple attemps to find the Versa, but I receive my notifications.

I'll be the loudest voice here if the new one stops working. It's been 5 days, and I've had not one single problem. Hoping that they don't mess up anything again, that was the worst I've been through with this company. It was almost enough to make me consider getting an iPhone just to get the Apple watch.

I just went on the longest run I have ever successfully completed, only to discover that the Fitbit apparently stopped working within the first couple of minutes.  It was stuck on the Fitbit symbol screen and not logging steps, heart rate, or anything else.  It's done that several other times over the past month -- again, only since the "update" was introduced in August, never even once before that -- but this is the most frustrating so far.

I am just about done, Fitbit.  Seriously.

@Odyssey13

I have done the removing everything and then re-install - I still end up with 3.5 beta - two questions -

1) does yours say it is a beta app?

2) Are you in North America or Europe? That could explain the different versions.

It started with the new dashboard being difficult to sync, but when android forced an update a few days ago, my inspire has never been able to sync since the update.
