Syncing w/Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

My S7 Edge just randomly started working with my Charge HR. At first the phone wouldn't even see it as a Bluetooth device. Then one day about a week ago it started recognizing it, then a day or so later it started pairing with it. I didn't do anything special, other than make sure everything was up to date.

I was having similar issues and for me it was very confusing. Both my wife and I have the S7 and the Charge HR. She has had flawless connection and 100% uptime with hers, I have not been able to sync in the past 20 days. I constantly get that the device is not found... it has connected, but was spotty at best. I will try and connect via computer till connecting is resolved.

My Fitbit One will not Sync. It worked with my old phone , just fine. Is this away for them to get me to up grade my Fitbit? Seems they would want to stay ahead of the technology, umm there will be new phones in about 6 months. Please help me out here. I love my Fitbit One!

@Tmerritt @Niquaa @debmagic The Galaxy S7 is not currently listed as a supported device. I recommend following the same steps that I suggested regarding the Galaxy Note 5 here. It doesn't hurt to try set up but it isn't guaranteed that all features will fully function with a device that is not listed as supported here.

I have a fitbit charge with the samsung s7 phone and mine stopped syncing,
now it is and here is how.

I called tech support with fitbit. They had me plug the fitbit into the
computer and log into fitbit. Then I deleted my fitbit charge device from
the fitbit app on my phone and Uninstalled the app. Next I reinstalled the
app and restarted my phone. Then I went through the set up process on the
app (make sure you hold down the button on your fitbit while it's trying to
find it) and now my fitbit is syncing again.

Thanks; sadly, that didn't work. In fact, the Samsung couldn't even find
my fitbit once I unpaired it! I had to use my friend's (noon Samsung)
phone to re-pair and sync.

Glad it worked for you though

Are you any closer to having the Samsung Galaxy S7 be compatible for notifications? Very frustrating having a watch and I can't use all the features.

SO in other words, no one knows. I had the Blaze and S7 edge and they worked great until this past week and then it topped working and will not even pair to the phone. Notifications stopped, syncing stopped, and other than music control the blaze is useless to me now. I know the Blaze works, it syncs to my computer.I know the S7 works because every other app and device works just fine. Ask Fitbit and they don't just tell us they don't know any answers, they refuse to answer the question and just say "we're working on it"........ Guess they got our money, who needs us now.

Yeah it was infuriating. It's very much a s7 thing because I can still
sync with my bf's phone and my old LG phone. God knows what's going on.

Having said that, I manually updated my s7 and fitbit is syncing now. No
thanks whatsoever to fitbit who had no answers for why it failed in the
first place and how to fix it. Not 100% it will work for you; I've had
other people emailing me with random ways that they fixed their S7 syncing,
which didn't work for me but clearly did for them!

@firebug654, have you done a restart of the phone yet? This might be needed if the app updated the Bluetooth interface.

BTW:I've moved your post to a thread on the S7Edge, i found this post about sync problems with the Edge under a thead about Mobile tracking with the app and the HTC phone. There is a lot of info above, that may help you. Please keep us updated.

It has been three months since the Samsung S7 series launched ... c'mon Fitbit!

I purchased the Alta (to replace my MS band) specifically to be alerted to txt, emails, etc. at work (since the phone is on silent) and now that function is not even availabe to me.

I could have saved a bit of money and just opted for a Flex.

Please make this a priority.

So your last message was 3/27 and it is now 6/19 and still Samsung 7 is not compatible??  I bought this for my husband when he had a Samsung 4s and even though it was hell to get it to work, it did work. Now he bought a new replacement and fitbit is not up to date??? Very frustrating, when will it be updated?  Do I need to return his gift?   Also it would be really nice if you could understand the person you are speaking with on the phone at fitbit and they would at least attempt to contact you when you lose connection, which apparently is happening a lot because the tech mention it.
Also, it would be very nice if someone would reply to any and/or of our messages.

Hello,

I'm not a rep for Fitbit, but I can say my S7 and Blaze are now
compatible. I called their Customer Service department for assistance.
Now I am able to use all of the features.

Thanks!

We just traded in the old one because it would only give him notifications for phone calls. Picked up the new one on Sat. 6/18 and have been trying to get it to work with his Samsung 7 ever since.  I sure hope someone official will chime in. Thanks for your update and really happy at least 1 person is getting it to work. Smiley Happy

Maybe this is splitting a  hair, but here goes...

Just because one device is working, that doesn't mean the S7 is certified as being compatible.  As I understand it, until it shows up on the list of compatible devices (https://www.fitbit.com/devices), it isn't officially deemed as being compatible.

Is anyone else having compatibility issues with the fitbit blaze with their galaxy s7. I just bought the fitbit blaze and was unaware that it's not compatible.

Any information on this is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

It appears lots of folks are; looks like a hit-or-miss proposition (i.e. some folks work, some don't).  Hopefully a new batch of supported phones will be released soon, I'm nursing my old phone along until any one of three new phones I have my eye on are supported, the S7 included.

What seems to be happening with my Galaxy S7 is that it is doing the Auto Sync and not syncing when I want it to.  So the syncing will not always be as up to date as I want it to be.

I hope that Fitbit will fix this really soon.  I really like my Blaze and  my Galaxy S7 and don't really want to give up either one of them.
