Syncing w/Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

My fitbit app wouldn't work with my new Samsung Galaxy S7 (Marshmellow) due to syncing issues. I just reset my fitbit (plug it into laptop/wall charger and hold button on left side for approx 10seconds until fitbit symbol appears, then unplug it). App worked instantly! 🙂

@Snusbox Our Android Team is constantly working to test and add more phones to our list of supported devices. Once they've fully tested a device they will add it to the list, so keep an eye on it for updates. I will also make sure to update this thread once I learn that those devices have been tested.

In the meantime, I recommend syncing with a listed supported device or using a computer with these instructions. That will help you get set up today. Hoping to have an update for everyone soon.

You can add the ZTE Axon 7 to your list of 'not compatible.    It may be good to just supply a list of Android Marshmellow phones you do support as that must be shorter.

Tried all suggested steps to resolve the issue, including the3 location permission and nothing worked.

This device really was a poor purchase.

Hey, @Dwillmore! Thanks for joining us! It is too bad to hear that you do not have a compatible device to sync your Fitbit with, however, you can still sync with a laptop or computer!

I hope that this works out for you! Cat Tongue

I'm not able to pair with blaze classic....so I can't receive notifications....when will this be fixed for the S7 edge

Sorry @JamieJack we are going to have to look someplace else to get Notification working, Bluetooth Classic is strickly used for music control.. My thoughts would be to first read this post of mine to get called ID working.. This is easier then messaging which then will only take an auditional step or two.

As for Classic at what step does it fail? Does the phone see it? A code appears on the blaze and phone? Are you able to accept the code from the Blaze first, then the phone?

6 months and the Galaxy S7 still isn't syncing with fitbit? Really? Is anybody home?

This is ridiculous...the galaxy s7 & s7 edge is the most popular phone on the market and has been out for 6 months! My blaze worked fine for a while but suddenly stopped syncing 2 weeks ago and I've tried all the suggested troubleshooting (resetting, reinstalling, etc). I'm so angry that I paid for your expensive smart watch to get notifications and control music and GPS and all you can tell me is to sync it with my computer and wait but not even an estimated timeline. If I only wanted a step count I would have bought the cheapest fitbit!

Like telwwyk said. This is ridiculous. How many galaxy s7s have been sold? Won't buy fitbit again

Hello everyone! Special welcome aboard to @Blocstar and  @JamieJack.

@JamieJackI'm glad to hear your tracker is syncing by now. In your case @Blocstar@Gary_R and @telewyk I understand your point and I'm passing along to our teams your feedback. So far I haven't heard any recent update regard these specific mobile devices and indeed are very popular now. So my recommendation is to take a look to my friend ErickFitbit's post, he shared some recommendations that might help you sync.

If I have any update, be sure I will let you know.

Has there been any progress on the notification issue with the S7?  I bought an Alta today and am considering returning it because of this issue.

The latest for me is my Blaze is still not working with my S7 Edge. Today I deleted the Blaze from my "devices" on the app, uninstalled the app, turned off my phone, restarted the fitbit, re-added the blaze and did a sync through the app on my tablet, turned on my phone, reinstalled the app, turned on Bluetooth and.....NOTHING 😞 it still tries to sync and spins and spins and then says Tracker Not Found. My phone connects to my car and headphones via bluetooth no problem. No idea why I'm having this issue when others seem to be working with the S7. I'm planning to call customer service tomorrow, will update if any fixes work.

Before trying to connect to the Edge, make sure your your Blaze is disconnected from the tablet by turning it's BT off.

Another update...I think this thing is messing with me! Have done nothing since I posted the update yesterday when it still wasn't working after 2 weeks (I did try turning the bluetooth off as well, thank you for the suggestion Rich_Laue!). Tried to sync again this morning and it still said Tracker Not Found but just now my phone rang and so did my watch!! and now it's getting text and calendar notifications and I can sync to transfer my steps and everything. No idea what happened so I can't help anyone else since I don't think I actively did anything to make it work. Maybe they did an update and the S7 is about to become supported?

@telewyk Thanks for the update! Did you happen to unpair and then pair the Blaze with your phone on Sunday? Maybe that may have helped if you did that. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to share, glad to hear you're successfully syncing and receiving notifications.

This is garbage. What are the android developers working on? The S7 is one of the best selling android phones and has been out for almost 6 months! What the devil is the point of bluetooth??

I don't want to be digging up the cable and plugging into my laptop every time a sync is needed. This is why I made sure Android was supported when buying the fitbit months ago!

Hi Erick!

Looks like this post is several months old.  Had an HR and just received a new Blaze...when will it be compatible with Samsung S7 Edge?  Thinking of upgrading my present phone, but want it to sync with my new Blaze.

Thanks!
