Fitbit Update: 9/12/19
Hey all!
We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android.
In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification.
When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!
Fitbit Update: 7/30/19
Hi everyone.
We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix.
While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

Then I have news for you. I just received an update of the app and now... I do not even receive the sender's name anymore. My Charge 2 just remains stum when I receive a text message.
Fitbit is slamming the door in their own face and I don't even care anymore.

I have switched the messaging from Android Messenger to Verizon Messenger app and it is working. While I don't like it as much as the stock Android it is a workaround until Fitbit gets on the ball and fixes the issue properly.

Just wondering how many people on this thread use Google messages. If it is most, maybe Google and Fitbit are not playing nice at the moment?

I did my charge update a week ago. Didn't do anything else, and yesterday out of nowhere I was able to get messages again.
So weird.

I went to google play on Thursday and noticed Fitbit had an update. Which is weird that my phone didnt automatically update. After I updated I started getting message texts again! Finally!

What was the version of the app? Also, what Fitbit device do you use?

I use the Charge 2. The Fitbit app version is the newest one on Google Play 3.3.1, and since installing it my Fitbit works again. It's even better because it now shows the text message sender on one line then the actual message scrolls under the name.

Interesting. That version was released on August 15th. Many have tried it and it's not worked properly. What messaging app are you using?

That's the version I have. I also have the charge 2 and it's not working for me. Super frustrating..

I just use the SMS messenger app that came with my samsung s10 phone. My phone normally just automatically downloads app updates on it's own, but for some reason I had to actually manually click on the update for the Fitbit 3.3.1 update.

I have the note 9 and the 3.3.1 version and still only getting senders name for text. Even just deleted the fitbit app and reinstalled it.
