Fitbit Update: 9/12/19
Hey all!
We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android.
In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification.
When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!
Fitbit Update: 7/30/19
Hi everyone.
We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix.
While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

Make sure Google Play didn't update it. I had auto updates turned off but after about a week it updated somehow. Has happened to me a couple of times. Had to uninstall and reinstall 2.95.

Make sure notifications are turned on for your device. I accidentally turned them off once. Only other thing I can think of is double checking permissions for the app.

Did you try the test call?

LindaAZ- I had to go back to version 2.90 to get it to work again. 2.95 never did correct the problem for me- I was not receiving any texts, calls, or calendar notifications. Those all stopped with the 3.X version. All fitbit notifications (alarm, reminder to move) have neer had an issue. But yesterday all phone notifications stopped again, including test call. I restarted phone today and it is again working.
I am staying on 2.9 - it does everything need it do.

How do you go back to 2.90 version?

I've confirmed for myself that this is only a problem with Google's Messages app. My Charge 2 is still able to display message contents if I set it to notify for Facebook Messenger.

I use the installed messaging app on Android Samsung S10e and it does not work so it unfortunately goes beyond Google

Throwing my issue in as well. This bug affects Blaze units as well, but if no content is sent the watch doesn't display the notification. Rolling back to 2.95 fixed it for me, so this issue is tied to (or the same as) the one affecting blaze owners.

Is this a problem for all Fitbits on Android devices or only older Fitbits on Android devices? I have a Fitbit Alta, which I know is old since they no longer manufacture it. Is this a ploy to get me to upgrade to a new Fitbit, or should I just bite the bullet and buy a Google watch and abandon Fitbit altogether. I've had this issue for months now, and I find it hard to believe that the geniuses at Fitbit can't figure it out.

Hi everyone, has anyone got 3.4 yet. I heard that someone has and has messages. Give us all a heads up if you try it when available and let us know what, if anything, happens.
Cheers.
