Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

I really hate the new app layout.  I like the colors of the older version.  I have dyslexia and the colors of the older version is much easier for me to read. I can't with this newer version.  It is a headache I can't understand it. It also seems like the newer version got ride of lots of features. This is not OK.

Whilst I appreciate the work and time it takes to develop these apps ... the latest update is absolutely dreadful, I still miss the app from many moons ago where you could see all info on one page.

Another nail in the coffin for me, I'm going to Garmin with my next watch.

I hate this update, please bring back the old one and maybe even fire the team that designed this app and the other teams that allowed it to go public.  The new app is not very customizable, at least with the old one you could move things around.  Other cons: too much white space, colors and all zones look the same, battery indicator that now lacks a percentage figure and simply relies on an icon, step streak missing.  achievements missing. Real time HR missing

and now I see that it will not let me view the breakdown of how it arrived at the Stress Management Score unless I log a reflection. I logged frustrated because I'm extremely frustrated and stressed out by this app and it's inability to be useful now. grrrh. 😠😤

The new Fitbit app update is now missing the battery level icon that was always visible in the old version.  I just got a notification of low battery and when you tap on the link to bring you to the app the battery level / percentage is nowhere to be found!

The new interface is horrible.  The old one was much better.  I don't need most of the new editing functionality.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, which is truly awful, is that it no longer seems to save individual walks complete with route map. And, if it does, it only saves one per day.  So I lost at least two walks in my first week.  THIS SUCKS.  Alongside Steps, Sleep and Water, it was the main I liked about Fitbit.

I agree with the previous comment.  Google seems to have a habit of taking on other people's good projects and then ruining them. I will be researching the whole market and considering a whole bunch of competing products when my watch needs renewing.

It's absolutely awful. Where has the battery level gone? The new layout is horrid, everything is too big. You can't see anything properly. It looks cheap and nasty.

Please roll it back to the previous version.

@Linz16 That is interesting, there were a lot one or two star negative reviews in the date range 28/09 to 03/11 when I looked.

I did have to make sure that the filter settings were for all reviews in date order and for phone rather than other equipment type.

@RunKatana If I remember correctly from earlier today, while looking at the reviews with a desktop browser, I could see there were about 125,000 one star reviews for all time. On my Android phone right now I can't make it reveal the count.

@pjcmerritt Sadly I would think that they spent 30 minutes building this new app version. I say this because this kind of program is built using toolkits and secondly that there's not the slightest bit of evidence that it was properly tested.

I cancelled mine today, it’s so frustrating!!
I wish they would just go back to the previous version,

I am sad and angry that something which was so user friendly and really delivered has been ruined!

The app gets an F or zero stars (reader's choice).  It is horrible.  Besides the obvious interface issues, the app does not reliably sync when open, which means I have to close and reopen the app to sync or manually sync to get an accurate count of steps, zone minutes, miles, and calories.  With the prior app, I could watch the steps/miles increase in real time, with each step; with the new app, the count remains fixed until I close and reopen the app, manually sync, or move out of and then back into Bluetooth range.  On the treadmill yesterday for 30 min. and the step count never increased until I closed and re-open the app.  What's the point of a fitness app if it doesn't accurately track exercise and fitness in real time?

Also, the new app no longer shows the route map for completed walks and hikes (or if it does, I can't find it).

In short, the new app really sucks.

I‘ve been a long time Fitbit user. Hate the update. Wondering if it’s time to jump to a different tracker or just stop tracking all together. It’s not fun or user friendly.

How do I get the old app back fpr my Android?

I agree. I never signed up for premium because I never felt I needed it. I
have vision problems as a result of AMD. So screen color is very important
to me. White is not working for me. I was planning on upgrading during the
Holidays but am going to have to rethink it.

Did everyone get their email today about the new Pixel watch?  Big surprise there right? 🙄

Quelle surprise!!

If this isn't fixed, as in returning access to the 3.x version rather than "updating" this irredeemable misdesigned app effort, I'll never pay money for another Google product again.  Likely anybody who loves their Fitbit, finding it a truly useful health tool, that has experienced this application nightmare would never consider a Pixel watch.  Apparently many associated with this company fail to appreciate the value of customer trust, that thing that engenders customer loyalty, which this sorry 4.x excuse for an application and killing the old very useful one pretty much decimates.  Why they can't provide access to the last very functional 3.x version to quell this widespread discontent which has gotten so bad that the issue is now popping up in media is hard to fathom.

I miss my Fitbit, but with the new layout and deleted features it isn't
usable for me. I sadly took off my Firbit and canceled my premium membership

Totally agree with you. I'm actually sad, when I open the app and see the abomination they created. Where are the up-beat colours? The motivating graphics?  I wish I subscribed to Fitbit Premium, so I could cancel it.

My Fitbit went to an X with a circle around it.

Not happy!
