Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that the redesigned Fitbit app starts rolling out today! This new app will help you reach your goals, and bring the health and wellness information right on hand.

Check out our latest blog for how to get the most out of the new app.

Note: Please be patient if you don't see the update right away, as it will take some time to roll out completely.

Happy stepping!

Wow, other than how much worse this app is, I just noticed you can't tell who's signed in!  I log off and sign in as my wife's Lux, then out and sign in as my Charge 5.  There's no indication which is signed in without more clicks!  Had my profile picture before.  Had everything I needed on one page before, now I have to click and scroll.  Totally worthless.  Lux is already terrible at sleep tracking, so on the lookout for 2 new watches.

Agree!  New app inconsistently tracks HR during exercise and other annoying layout issues.  Typical data hard to find and cant accurate track activity anymore.  Not user friendly.  Who tested this upgrade?  Ugh!

And none that I remember have been nearly as bad as this.

@LokeAa the OP asked clearly for weekly totals compare to the previous week that you can't see on the disaster app, everything below highlighted red is suppressed and omitted by Google's UI design but luckily we got this pale colored greyish background and the oversized typography that for sure make it up! (/sarcasm over)

I hate the new app update. Clunky, too much scrolling, can't see battery status, can't edit activity name. It seems like a huge loss of functionality and much less streamlined. I want the old version back.

Do not care about up votes and reading other responses many are of the same opinion. Thanks for your reflective opinion.

Correct, I received a sarcastic post from some person at Fitbit about not receiving upvotes so my comments are not valid😄

@GrantPratt your posts have more upvotes as the moderators 😂

You may not, GrantPratt, but many others do.  And yes, there are some folks that do a lot of repeat posts.  But if you take the time to read through the 44 pages a perceptive mind will find virtual unanimity in hard dislike of what is a poorly conceived and executed application.  That's something that is beyond aggravating since we who have seriously used these products as part of our daily health and fitness program, many of us over a decade, have experienced a beautifully functioniing application rendered close to useless.  For we who post that's a pretty big deal.  We, likely futilely, hope that the old 3.9x app is posted as an alternative app on the Play Store which would magically make all of this anger go away.  Why not give people something they clearly prefer, something truly useful as a health and activity tracker rather than this clown-car mess?  It costs Google nothing aside from some developer embarrassment.  It's surprising that a company would so harshly stick it to a loyal customer base, but their doing so if not resolved will mean that lots of alternative trackers will be on peoples' holiday wish and shopping list.  As for you not caring about reading posts, well, that's you.

Think you may have misunderstood the post. I had provided disapproval of the new app. Someone from FitBit messaged me and said the number of up votes I received indicates that I am out of touch with people. That's where I said I do not care about up votes but from other messages, many disapproved of this new app.

Having already done that, it does not detract from a poor downgrade to the existing app. Cannot see heart rate as exercising on the phone app, steps do not increase either until the app is refreshed.

Hi lizzie.

I'm trying to work out how to fully delete my fitbit account. I ditched the app and the strap due to the 'upgraded' app. It's too horrid for words, so I bought an amazfit. Their app isn't as good as your previous one but it's a way better product overall than fitbit now. But anyway, I want to fully delete account and notifications. I can see everyone hates the app. That's not going to change and my inbox is getting blocked up. Thanks

The horror!!! Insightful? Not at all!!

All is one big blur. Nothing that really catches my eye. Nothing intuitive. I have to search for all the data that interests me, and it takes me so much more time to do so. Not because it is new, but I need to make so much more movements and clicking to see how my day has been. Worse than this, impossible! Don't you have experienced functional architects there?

Is there a way to uninstall the update on my app? I love how it use to show me where in my work out I was in fat burn mode. And I loved how everything was color coded.

More "fun" this morning. The new app now cannot find my Charge 5. I know where it is, it's on my left wrist and my phone is in my left hand as I'm typing this message. The distance between the two is about 3 inches. That'll teach me to say how much I hate this new app version. 😁

Now off to reinstall everything.

Have you ever wondered why over 42 + pages not a single positive response, that is a HUGE number of up votes. Instead of arrogant responses rather attend to the issue at hand. That is how a professional organisation should operate.

Thirty minutes later and it's reconnected. Reinstall app, forget Bluetooth, restart Charge 5 while on the official usb, pair again (failed), pair again (success), go to app to see no device, add device, eureka!!!!

Why can't you just pair from the tracker device with your phone?

I have been using Fitbit since I got my first Charge HR, and it seems that my Charge 5 will be my last Fitbit device. The reason is simple: There's a manager who decided that it was a great idea to remove some existing features from the app without adding anything new, except for a new look. The new look is also a problem in itself, as it takes up more space and is no longer usable in split-screen mode. It's frustrating to think that salary is being allocated to this manager instead of investing in meaningful updates. History teaches us that when updates prioritize a new UI over UX, the product is rolling down to its dusk.

While I was excited with Charge 6 announce, this update ruined the excitement for me.

RIP

This is a common complaint and so far no idea how to do this.

the community forum is full of first time contributors like me who felt strongly enough to write something but so far no solution even though some people have attached the link to the media who have got hold of this matter

I can’t see any of that apart from the today button. Could you add some screenshots of the button ? Is it the settings one ?

@GrantPratt indeed- and you say 42 pages plus because that's what you see now, but many many comments have been removed....I'd say the true number of pages is more like 70 plus, not to mention the hundreds of negative reviews on other platforms.
