@DobbyDoris Thanks for sharing your feedback! I recommend voting for this existing idea in our Feature Suggestions board to add barcode scanning for international food databases.
As for logging with a decimal, can you share a screenshot of what exactly you're unable to log with a decimal and in which specific field? I also recommend confirming that you're on the latest version of the Fitbit app for Android.

When i first started scanning it did quite well but it seems to have stopped. I am in the UK, to be honest if you sell the fitbit in other countries and charge the same price then it should do the same as it does in US and WORK - It is advertised with the feature - I didn't notice a discount cos some features don't work in the country i live in. My Fitness Pal is brilliant and its free! BUT i paid a lot for my fitbit charge 2 and expect the features to work

It's not like it would be a hard project to work out. Sure some countries use the same barcode for different products but how would tell you which country.
Im a self employed IT transformation specialist. I bet we could add country by country at a fairly rapid rate

As far as i can make out My Fitness Pal is US based but works in other counties, certainly does well here and is free, there are upgrades you can buy but most of it is free to use. Between fitbit losing data from my walk last night, telling me today that i did 250 steps for all my core hours, I was actually in a meeting from 10 to 1pm! i'm getting quite disappointed in this fitbit 😞

@DobbyDoris it was marked solved because the tips given in the solution helped the original poster with their barcode scanning problems.
This thread is not about scanning internation barcodes.

Sorry but that's a poor reply. The barcode scanning issue for non - US users has been a concern for more than TWO years and is not resolved. Please don't refer to the online vote on this issue as that too has no effect on Fitbit actually helping.

Sorry I was simply explaing why the origanal poster marked the answer as solved. The poster i was responding to is upset that foreign barcodes can not be scanned, which has nothing to do with the quality of scanning us barcodes. It was not ment to help anybody, but to explain to Dobby why they should not be so upset with yhe solution.
@Weegem since this is your very first post in this thread, i wasn't aware that you also where having problems.

Take a photo? Are you kidding? ALL measurements on ALL foods have a decimal. I'd like to eat, not starve because I'm taking photos of everything and sending it to a company that clearly doesn't care about its international users.
I have seen countless accounts of the databases not working since 2015, and countless compromises suggested by very generous and patient users and you take the piss by suggesting this is solved when YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING?
I don't whether to laugh, cry, or tell your mummy on you for telling porkies.

Hey @DobbyDoris and @cloggy1.
@DobbyDoris @cloggy1 We do not have any details on when we could expect this to be added, if it will, or any updates on the situation. I absolutely understand how it can be very useful and I will keep my eyes open in case we get any news on the matter.
Additionally, Accepted Solutions are not the same as votes. Accepted solutions can only be selected with the button that says 'Accept as Solution' and it is done by other users in the Forums, not by moderators. It only means that whoever selected it found that response useful, that it clarified the situation for them enough that they considered it a solution.
Again, let me know if you need anything else.

I'd like to know why this isn't being brought to the attention of someone with seniority at Fitbit, someone capable of making and carrying out decisions. False advertising of a product is not something to be taken lightly. Why have none of you Fitbit Moderators escalated this issue? Is it because you're all in the USA and have the features yourselves?

So my OH can scan UK barcodes on his Iphone, but I can't on my android. It must just be an android problem then, no? I can scan barcodes no problem with myfitnesspal so it isn't my phone. The scanner within the fitbit app kind of makes everything blurry on the phone, maybe that is part of the problem?

Same here. Only scans when rotated 90 degrees. Nexus 5x

ohhh so it only works on US barcodes. How annoying. Any plans to add a UK database for U.K. Fitbit users? 🙂

Just bought my first Fitbit and thought I would be able to scan all my food like I did in MyFitnessPal... but no.
I could link the 2 apps.. but I don't see why I should be having to use 2 apps and wait for them to sync etc.
Most disappointed ... and to see this thread has been going on for nearly 2 years and Fitbit still haven't addressed the issue...Most disappointed!!!

Why has this thread been marked as solved, when it quite clearly hasn't been. So many disgruntled customers here in the UK, unable to use the scanning feature; or add items to the database.

@43335132 to get an insight into why the thread was marked solved by the original poster you will need to look at the original post and the marked solution, then read any additional posts that the original poster.
The marked solution clearly states that barcode scanning only works in the USA ans the original poster says they don't live in the USA, this may be the reason that they, and you, are unable to scan a barcode.
This thread is not about asking to add a new feature to the Fitbit app, but where Fitbit users help out their fellow Fitbit users by helping with their issues.
When it comes to making suggestions, we have a suggestion board where suggestions may be made and voted on.
I did find a request to support international barcodes (added by a Fitbit employee) it really needs more activity in votes.
