I am having the exact same problem. I foolishly unpaired my fitbit charge 2 from my phone app, hoping that it again would solve the problem. Now it won't pair. HELP!

I am running Samsung ver 9 and android ver 8.
I was able to get my Fitbit charge 2 to sync steps and movement by
unpairing my device. Restarting my Fitbit and then repairing it to my
phone, samsung galaxy s8. I am still not getting my phone texts on my
Fitbit but at least my movement data is syncing.

Fitbit seems fixed the bugs at their app. I was told to unpair my versa, re-do the pairing. It seems working now. Hope this kind of syncing problems won't happen again!!

Maybe you can try something similar to my solution: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Huawei-P20-lite-compatibility/td-p/2634123/page/2 At least it helped me.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for trying all sorts of steps to get everything to sync and work correctly.

@SergeyKn Thanks for sharing those steps. Hopefully some users will definitely find it useful.

I'd also like to recommend that everyone tries these steps:

  1. Open the phone's Bluetooth settings.
  2. Look for your Fitbit and remove it from the paired devices list.,
  3. Restart your phone and your Fitbit.
  4. Run the setup as if it was a brand new Fitbit.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
