In order to ensure an optimal experience, please take a moment to update your Fitbit app to the latest version by September 30th for those using Fitbit app versions 3.00 to 3.90 and 4.00 to 4.21. If you wait beyond that date to update, the Fitbit App could experience performance issues.
Visit the Google Play Store to update the Fitbit app.
To determine your app version:
For Fitbit App 3.00 - 3.90
Google Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Account Menu (Top Left Icon) > Help & Support > Version
For Fitbit App 4.00 - 4.22 (and higher)
Google Account: Today > Google Account Menu (Top Right Icon) > Help > App Version
Fitbit Account: Today > Settings (Top Right Gear) > Help > App Version

So by updating to the newer more inferior version, we are being forced to give up the better reporting capabilities of the old app? Please verify that the "new" app for android's sleep and other capabilities are fixed. Thank you.

The latest version removes all ability to edit activities so, not such a good update after all. It would be great if the next version put that functionality back into the app.

Why are we not getting any response from the Fitbit/Google Team on why the upgrade is actually a demoralizing downgrade? I pride myself on my 100 active minutes every day and work really hard to get them. Got 29 for my efforts on Tuesday after the "upgrade" and it seems like I am not alone that...Please respond to our concerns! Thanks so much!

You do not say which version is "the latest version". However, I think that I must already be on it ( I am on V.4.23.fitbit-mobile...... on Android 14)
Today I found that I can no longer edit the distance of my swim. The ability to edit is important to me, as the fitbit / app does not record swimming with leg-kick only.
I also train sometimes in non-standard-length pools, so need to correct the distances.
Please get the edit facility back as soon as possible.
Cheers,
Liz

I just realized that was gone yesterday as well! Tennis seems to be the only thing that actually registers active minutes for me. Also, triggers/recognizes elliptical which I haven't used in at least one year time period.

Well I'm not sure why you felt this notice was necessary since the app seems to have nothing but performance issues.

I dont even have an option to update, even when I go to play store. Is this why my sleep is off by THREE HOURS this morning?
Clearly the app update isn't a solution for everyone since I can't even access it.

I updated the app and now it won't even hold a sync with my phone for longer than 15 mins.
DO NOT tell me to run the troubleshooter or restart the device because I've done everything multiple times.

I have version 4.23 on both my Android Phone and IPads. There is still an issue that has not been fixed in over a year. If I set the distance goal in the Android Fitbit App to 5 miles and then go open the Fitbit App on the IPad, the distance there is shown as 3.11 miles. If I set the distance in the Fitbit IPad app to 5 miles and go back to the Android, the distance goal is now 8.05 miles.
Even though both the Android and the IOS apps are set to miles, there is a kilometer to miles conversion going on. It would sure be nice if this issue would get fixed.

The app updated to 4.23 and I have at least Android 10. Since the update, the app tracks my activity all day and then loses it at midnight. Other than today's steps, I have no activity showing since noon last Tuesday except for today's steps. And I know the problem is the app, because yesterday I got my weekly email summary and it shows all the activity my Fitbit collected. So Google has it, I just can't access it in the app. So at 11:59pm tonight, I have to manually copy today's data before it disappears from the app.
I've been a Fitbit user for more than 10 years, but this is it. My main activity is walking, but at this point the device and app are no more useful than a mechanical pedometer if I have to manually transfer each day's data to retain it where I can see it. EVERY "update" has been a downgrade since Google bought Fitbit.

Older version , lets me force dark mode in Android, the new version doesn't.
this is HUGE win for people with bad eye site... don't take away the old version unless you have dark mode ready for new version in ANDROID.

Removing options for premium pay or is it just the Google way of not fully testing before release?
Latest downgrade will not track activities nor allow for manual entry.
Why? So many reports of this and seems that every update that has been released is buggy AF.

@ths71 In the past they just leave you with whatever hinkey version you have. What they want is for you to buy a new phone, preferably one of theirs.

Like many of the people who have replied here, I updated Fitbit App to 4.24.
App does not display data after 26-August-2024. The weekly stats summary is correct and up to date but to do a deep dive I am invited to view the dashboard - which no longer is available.
What is the remedy?
