I got an update of the app via google play overnight.
Most settings where defaulted?
Why why why? You would need to up your software game quite a bit. The tracker (charge 3) is a really nice one, and the data and presentation is also quite nice. But you've got some serious amount of homework to do when it comes to stability and connectivity. Also the app is veeeeeeery slow from time to time.

@SunsetRunner It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!
I will assist you with your app update. Any app update shouldn't reset any settings. Could you share which settings were reset by this update? Did you only updated the Fitbit app or also the OS (with any security update)?
I look forward to your reply.

Silent alarms, dominant hand, noitifications, kind of all of the in app settings. My tracking data seems intact.
I've fixed it back to desired state now, but still gives your software kind of an alpha-feel to it.
Also, I've had consistant sleep tracking since i bought the tracker, but since the app update, I only seem to get simplified sleep stats. It could of course be just a coincidence, but an (un)well timed one if thats the case. On this last point I'll get back to you if a pattern seems to emerge.
edit: I do have pulse data for the whole night in the pulse-report.

This last night I've got my sleep stats, so that part might just have been an unfortunate coincidence.
