Fitbit Update 04/19/2018:  Hi everyone - Thanks so much for patiently waiting while we released a fix. I'm happy to report we started rolling out Fitbit for Android version 2.70 yesterday, on 4/18. Each new app version is slowly released, so if you don't see it available in the Google Play store yet, it will be there shortly. This app version contains the fix, so please update!

If you continue to see the "Do not Disturb" error message after updating, please let me know. I would like to receive confirmation from you all that this app version really did fix it.

Thanks for all your help!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ that I just synced my FitBit to this morning. My phone is definitely NOT in DND mode, but on the "notifications" setting on my FitBit, I'm getting the "Your phone is in DND mode and you will not get notifications" message at the top. I've tried going in and turning on/off my DND, taking away my scheduled DND (10PM-5:30AM so should not be affecting) but nothing seems to make that message go away

I have the same issue after last fitbit app update

Best Answer

I have the same issue too. I have to have my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 edge) on silent mode whilst I am at work, I was still able to receive notifications (either phone or text messages) on my Charge 2 but since the update, I can't receive any! Please can you advise if this can be rectified?

Best Answer

Mine has been doing this since the update too... I've restarted my fitbit, messed with my phone but nothing seems to be fixing it.

I have not ever used DND.  But my Fitbit app is telling me it is on.  I have checked everything on my phone (learning lessons since I don't know anything about DND, since I never use it), and uninstalled the app with a phone restart.  I am running Fitbit ver 2.69 and Andriod 8.0.0 (Oreo).  I have also given Fitbit permissions to override DND so I can get notifications until this is ironed out.  Any one else having this issue?

I have an Ionic and have the same issue since the most recent update. Sounds like it's an issue with the app, which sucks because there probably isn't anything we can do about it until they fix the issue!

Grrr! This is so frustrating! I hate it when they "fix" things and end up screwing up something else!

Mine is doing this too. Yesterday my phone updated and things seemed to be messing up with this app. Then the app updated today and I noticed it is saying the same thing yours is. I uninstalled the app and turned my phone off and back on installed the app again, and it is still there.

Recently the phone calls are no longer on my Fitbit. In the Fitbit app I see the message that my phone is in Do not disturb mode. Now I have found out that it is because I have my phone in a silent state. And that was just so useful, that I put my phone in silent mode and that I got the phone calls on my Fitbit. How do I turn it back without having to turn on the sound or the vibrate mode?

I also noticed this issue this morning where my phone is not set to dnd but fitbit app says it is and hence am not receiving notifications. I also have like OP my phone in silent mode and soon as you enable sound the message about dnd disappears and notifications work. Need fitbit to please fix this as soon as possible otherwise feature is useless.

Same issue with Samsung S6. Frustratingly I keep missing calls now. Silent doesn't mean Do Not Disturb.

Best Answer

just noticed this to on my s6 edge, do not disturb is not on. It only works when off silent, its on silent because i had the fitbit ionic for this purpose.

Please fix asap...

Think i found a workaround for now if you have android...at least s6

Set phone to vibration mode and go to vibration setting and slide intensity to off...

My Alta HR is not receiving phone calls. I have an honor 8 phone. The app says that my phone is in do not disturb mode, however, my phone is not and I am still receiving texts. I have deleted the app, restarted my phone, factory reset my phone and it still will not work. This is very frustrating as I leave my phone on silent and rely on my Alta to let me know if someone needs me.

Best Answer

This is also happening on some of the more unusual androids. I use an honor 8 and cannot have my phone on vibrate which is why I bought my Alta HR, my job requires me to have notifications even at night and I do not want to disturb the rest of my family with a vibrating phone. Please get this fixed as fast as possible. There is a BIG difference between silent and DND.

Hi everyone! This is something odd. Could you all give me more information about your phones and the OS version they are running? This will help our team better investigate and pinpoint the reason for the issue. Also make sure the app has the necessary permissions (Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Permissions), check your privacy settings so your messages and calls show on the locked screen and if nothing else works clear the cache of your app (in the same settings area of the permissions).

I look forward to your replies!

I have a Samsung Galaxy  S7. Everything is up to date and all permissions are given!

I have Galaxy Note 8. Don't know how to find the OS I'm using. I have done all of those things and everything is on and allowed, but it still has the thing saying my do not disturb is on, but I never use do not disturb and it is off.

Mine is a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. I can't find the OS version. But it's android version 7.0.

I'm just finding it frustrating that I can't receive notifications on my Charge 2 when my phone is on silent! I need to have my phone on silent whilst I am at work. Be good if you can return the notifications back to how they were 😞
