"Fitbit.com is unavailable" error on app login screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I'm using app version 2.67, which is the latest version, every time i try to login with the app, it says the usual error we have seen a million times around here, every time it's claimed "we fixed it" then the same issue reappears on every app version i have ever been on.

"Fitbit.com is unavailable......"

This time i'm using a Galaxy S8+ and i am unable to login in the app. Also on the main screen, no matter which item i tap, be it "Track Exercise", "Weight Goal", anything really except the menu button, the app crashes immediately.

Hi, I've been having trouble logging into Fitbit app. When I do try to, it keeps saying 'Fitbit.com not available, try again later'. I had logged out of Fitbit app because my Fitbit wasn't connecting to my android's bluetooth, and I thought logging out & in would fix it. However it didn't. When I try pairing the Fitbit to my phone's bluetooth, it says 'Flex has rejected pairing'. Could anyone help me with this?

Hi there @Avantgardian@Askhan thanks for joining the Fitbit Community and for bringing this issue to my attention.

@Askhan I have merged your post to this thread since you are experiencing similar case.

I had a similar experience with my app and I was able to log in by switching from mobile data to WiFi or vice-versa depending how you are trying to log in.

Other tip I can suggest here if you updated your app recently to the last version and is crashing, is to log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

See you later and hope this helps.

Hello Roberto,

I tried both solutions you suggested, none seems to work.

Is there any othert way to get it to work?

Im having the same issue with my Fitbit android app

Now its saying "Fitbit.com is down for maintenance"" instead of just being unavailable

Why isn't the android app working? I have tired everything you suggested and I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still not working? I haven't even used this for 3 weeks. What the heck.

Having the same issue - re-installed the app, cleared the cache, force stopped the app, turned my phone completely off and re-started. Connected through wifi, same issue. Did the entire process again, tried connected to mobile data. Same result. Seems like something changed within the past hour or so, because my last sync was at 9:47 AM ET.

I've tried everything suggested too. It was working perfectly fine until I updated my fitbit last night. I go to sync this morning to find out my sleeping data and all I get is this silly message that fitbit.com is unavailable. But I can log into the website no problem on a browser. I've had my Fitbit for about a week, and I didn't have a great first impression to begin with: this is certainly not helping things.

@xxKayleigh  I am facing the same issue Fitbit was working fine upon till 15:08pm BST. But, thereafter it weirdly logged me out on the app. Now, I get "Fitbit.com is unavailable. Please try again later"

@vishpops93 i got randomly logged out too, during the time I was sleeping. But mine just came back up! I disconnected the bluetooth, and repaired it again, and it took a second but it logged me back in and everything seems to be functioning as normal.

I just tried logging in and it has let me back in. Dashboard wasn't showing data. So, quit out and opened again. All looks to be working ("Saying in hope").

Very peculiar how FitBit and MyfitnessPal are/have both been down.

I eventually fixed it myself, can't remember exactly what I did, but I think I tried the steps listed, but in a slightly different sequence. If I remember correctly, I disabled Bluetooth on the phone, force-stopped the app, cleared the app's cache, uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, installed the app and then re-enabled Bluetooth. But don't quote me on that.

My phone is a Galaxy Note 8 running Android Oreo.

The bottom line was that it was a huge pain, and I had to re-set my app preferences and re-pair my Versa Lite with my phone.

tried every combination of these steps. Absolutely will not connect to my charge 2. Always "fitbit is unavailable". Using a Samsung Galaxy S8+ with fitbit version 3.5. I never should have done the update
