Here is my example:

This problem still hasn't been fixed. Manual weights appearing in the Fitbit iOS app after removing an Aria entry.

after all this time you would think this issue is fixed, but I've bought a aria 2 recently.... and guess what, I also have this issue where manual entries magically appear

Thanks for the community forum here - it's really well looked after!
I just wanted to report that I'm having this issue on my phone and a new Aria 2 (I thought I should note it, since it appears to have been addressed three or so years ago...).

I *think* it's finally dawned on me why this is happening. Facts (at least in my case): it only happens when I have multiple weigh-ins in a single day; it only happens when the lowest weigh-in for the day is not the most recent one for the day; the manual entry is essentially a copy of my lowest weigh-in. If you think about it, when you look at your progress in the fitbit app, it would make sense to compare your (usually lower) morning weigh-in than any intra-day progress weigh-ins that you may have felt compelled to make. So, I think this could be by design. Fitbit, in order to compare apples to apples when it shows your progress, will choose the lowest weigh-in and make a copy of it for the end of the day. Does that make sense to anyone?

Found this thread through a Google search. This is still happening to me with my Alta HR. I weigh in one a week on Sunday, but I have mystery entries every Tuesday, which don’t correlate to anything special. They just appear.

Three years later and I too have this issue still. Any resolution in the near future?

I have confirmed the problem:
Fitbit will have to work with MyFitnessPal to solve. However here it is...
When weighing in Fitbit populates it’s data into the cloud.
Example:
you step on the scale, the scale sends the data to the Fitbit cloud and your phone reads that data on the Fitbit app.
MyFitnessPal also reads the data and enters it into the MyFitnessPal app.
this is where the problem arises... MyFitnessPal is given the ability to write data to the Fitbit cloud.
Example: you log food eaten into MyFitnessPal you will find it logged into Fitbit.
The phantom weigh in happens for 2 reasons:
1. You step on the scale but MyFitnessPal app reads the weigh in prior to the Fitbit app updating. MyFitnessPal then sends that number back to the Fitbit cloud. This results in a weight with no fat percentage logged as a manual entry.
2. You delete an entry from MyFitnessPal and since MyFitnessPal ONLY logs a single lowest weight for the day, it sends back the most recent low weight entry for that day as a new manual entry.
MY SOLUTION:
*This solution is only a work around and I still occasionally have to delete a phantom entry entry but it’s rare.
Step on the scale as many times as you would like in a day. NEVER delete weights from MyFitnessPal. ONLY delete your entries from the Fitbit app. Understand that if you delete a number that is your lowest entry for the day MyFitnessPal map attempt to send back what it believes is your lowest daily weight.
I personally go to my Fitbit at the end of each day and delete all weights except for my lowest daily entry. I have very few problems now.
hope it helps

I've deleted all access to my Fitbit account from Under Armour's apps (MapMyFitness was the one I was using). I'll let you know in a month or so...

@DawnSeven @lja_mommy Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this issue. I'd like you to try the workaround that shared @Gyver.
@Kometes I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved.
Thank you all for reporting this. Keep me posted!

It did not fix the problem. A new, bogus weight appeared when everyone in my household was 350 miles away.

I’ve been having spurious manual weights appear in my account for several years now. They are still pretty common and irritating to say the least. This thread is marked as solved but I don’t see any improvement.

@tinbucket Thank you for joining us in this thread! I'm sorry to hear that your Dashboard shows manual weights. I know how frustrating this can be.
Is this issue happening on your Fitbit app or the web-based Dashboard?
Looking forward to your response!

The manual weight entries show in both the app and web
01-07-2019 05:08

these appear in both the IOS app and the web portal.Frequency has no apparent relationship to physical scale use i.e. I'm not seeing a one for one or some fixed ratio therein.
Also they don't appear to be weights previously manually entered from a pre Aria phase of my fitbit journey as they are too similar to my current weight.
data is linked to a few other accounts.e.g. myfitnesspal, tactiohealth, runkeeper

@Gyver @tinbucket Thank you for providing the details requested previously. In order to correct this issue, set up your scales from scratch. Once your scale is installed, re-calibrate them by weigh yourself 5 times in a row and see if ghost readings stop appearing.
Keep me posted on the outcome!
