There has been a consistent difficulty with setting up the Aria Air scale since Fitbit moved to Google. When attempting to pair the device, an error occurs. Scale issue.jpg

I agree that it’s an issue that Fitbit themselves need to issue an update / fix for asap. I’m so exhausted by customer services replying to my emails basically implying it’s my fault for not setting it up correctly and repeating their set up instructions to me. They just told me there was a Fitbit aria associated with my account and I needed to step on it to actually take my weight so it could sync…. But there is No scale associated with my account at all because setup kept failing 😂

Feeling silly endlessly cycling through Bluetooth off/on, restart iPhone, press and hold reset to otA, press and hold to Clr, press and hold to 000. Worked okay until setup on new phone and transition from Fitbit to Google. That’s a lifetime worth of entering three digits + save wasted. A solution will be appreciated or ability to roll back from Google to Fitbit.

Still nothing for me.. This time the firmware did update but still only a guest and says that it synced but no results. I wouldn't say this is fixed just yet and the way that was provided doesn't seem to help at all

How do I sign up to be notified for a resolution? It seems the moderator has their "Best Answer" to this unresolved issue and closes the thread. How does Fitbit handle common unresolved support issues?

Best Answer

Obviously they ignore them.  I’m done.  I returned my scale and looking for alternatives with adequate support

If you didn’t say this I wouldn’t have known there’s a separate app for the scale. Thanks!

Hi,

Do you have an ETA of when this will be fixed?

Ta.

I found out one work around. If you live with someone who hasn’t switched to a Google account, have them set it up on their phone and invite you.

Sorry not super helpful

I’ve set myself up with a brand new account associated with my non-google email account and have refused to sync it with a google account…. My scale has paired now with no problems. I have no history anymore for my Fitbit health trends etc but not a huge issue as I only recently started using it again. Looks like non-google accounts will only be supported until early 2025 - although I’m hopeful they’ll have a fix for the aria setup before then. So it’s definitely isolated to google accounts !

how did set up a different email ?--

Signed up as a completely new account. Not really a good workaround for people who have had their accounts for years but would help to do what OKKfran suggested above to set up the scale and ‘invite’ your usual account to use it:

I advise everyone to use the sign up with a different email address
that is not google.
and magically will work .

Nothing but trouble since I converted to Google.  Clearly they did not test very much.

I'm getting the distinct impression this is a low priority for Fitbit and I'll still be visiting this thread months from now looking for a real solution.
