Fitbit Update: 09/3/2017

Our team is still actively investigating the root cause of this battery drain with Blaze and the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. I'm sorry that many of you are still having issues with a shorter battery life, but rest assured this is being looked at as high-priority for our team. My apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you all for your patience! I will provide an update as soon as there is more information available. In the meantime, please continue manually syncing your Blaze trackers only when needed. This will help preserve the battery-life.

Fitbit Update: 08/14/2017

Hi everybody!

Thanks for reporting your experiences with a rapid battery drain on Blaze trackers and your Android device - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. Our team is aware this is affecting Blaze users and they are investigating the root cause. I will update this thread when there is more information available.

As a temporary workaround, turn OFF "Always Connected" and the "All-Day sync" features. Make sure to manually sync your devices at least once a day.

Thanks for your patience!

I've been having this problem for a while with my Blaze and I believe it has something to do with the sync. The sync has always been a bit slow and since switching to the S8, it generally takes several tries and takes forever. My battery barely lasts a day but recently I've turned off the auto-sync and it seems to be a bit better and can last 2-3 days.  I would love to know what results other people are having with turning off the auto-sync.

I'm concerned about Fitbit as a company. we all know their stock has been hammered since IPO. The sync has never been great and continues to get worse. Without good software they are going to lose customers. Their customer service is also slow. They have to have known about this issue and it's been happening since last year.  This seems to be a company wracked with software and service issues. I hope this turns around soon, but I have to admit, the Samsung S3 is looking more and more appealing.

It is not just the Samsung. I have a Motorola Droid Maxx 2. I am recharging my FitBit to "full" at least once a day.

Just curious, did it start after a complete battery drain/Charge?

Then stop after the next charge?

Not sure about the specific details, honestly, I just remember that they started working again at some point. They've been working without any issue for a few days now.

I was told to turn off all day sync and always connected.  It is pain to sync manually but it seems to be working.  Last drain was on Sunday and as of now I still have medium battery.

Same with me. To your point sucks to turn it off though.

I'm having the same issue as the many users on this forum.  After a complete charge, my Blaze dies within 2 days.  This is completely unacceptable!!  You've known about this problem for months...Why is it taking you so long to resolve it???

Best Answer

WOW!  You said it all!!  I just wish after all the negative comments that they would FIX the issue.  I am ready to send my Blaze back and look for another product that works.

Agreed.  The Samsung Gear Fit2 looks pretty promising!  I would miss my fitbit community, but hey, sometimes you just have to move on.  You try to love someone but they just refuse to let themselves be loved.

I'm tired of this. It seems like the only answer is "We're looking into this" I really loved my 1st gen Charge HR. When that finally died, I decided to "treat" myself with this frustration. I have followed all the suggestions on this thread to no avail. I barely get 12 hours battery, I don't get notifications, and now it's not recording my steps properly which is one its most basic features. I used to talk my Fitbit up, but now I think I'm getting rid of it and going with a different brand. I just got this in March and it's already causing me this big of a headache. Sad.

Exact same problems, and the same disgust with my Fitbit.  I really regret buy the Fitbit.  I thought if your wanted one of these devices, Fitbit was the go to company.  I considered Samsung, but never really looked at them all that much, I felt it best to go with a leader in the industry.  Clearly that was a huge mistake on my part.  This has been broken for months with no signs of it being resolved.  I guess they just expect me to buy the "new" model when it comes out.  Well, I've learned my lesson, and I won't make the same mistake twice.  If I could I'd send it back and have them refund what I spent on this piece of junk.  Extremely disappointed. . . not what I ever expected from Fitbit!

I have the same battery drain issue with my new Blaze and my iPhone, both of them are draining fast.  iPhone drains inabout a day and the Fitbit Blaze less than a day and a half. Any advice on what function on the blaze is causing the drain?

How did you get it to work?  I've  been trying for a week , still no calls or messages importing.  What phone do you have?
