Fitbit. Why can't the time be displayed at all times on Blaze!!! Very annoying. Going from surge where I could always know what time it is back to a blank screen (and NO. It does not always turn on when I move my wrist to check time. Only occasionally does it do that). Better update soon to make that an option.
And while you're at it. Make the swipe to steps right there. Jeesh. Have to swipe to Today then look. Really awkward and unconvenient.
Unhappy with new toy

The reason you don't see a problem is that yours works like it should. Mine works right some of the time. However, many times I have to tap my watch two or three times before anything happens. Also, in the exercise mode, I have to tap it several times to start the timer. I would definitely not recommend the Blaze to anyone.

This is an explanation, not a solution. There needs to be an *option* to keep the display on full-time. Some of us would happily trade a shorter battery lifespan for this.
I bought the blaze to be a replacement jfor my refulat watch. The blaze is a poor replacement and as such, I rarely use it when I'm not working out. I wear a real watch instead.

My blaze clock very rarely turns on by itself I usually alway have to tap it a couple times or press the button in order to see what time it is it sucks. You should have the option to be able to leave the clock display always on to never let it shut off because it is extremely annoying to have to keep tapping it or pressing the button to light up the display to see what time it is😠

Have you contacted Fitbit support to get this looked at? It should come on as soon as you twist/move your wrist so it sounds like there's something wrong with yours if it's not working properly.
Mine comes on pretty much all the time when I twist my wrist so I'd say either you're doing something wrong or it's faulty.

I need an option that allows the face to remain lit for at least 30s, maybe even a minute. And easily revert to shorter times as needed. (So on the actual watch instead of the app?) Right now I'm having to wear a watch for work and switch to the blaze other times. I would not have bought this if I had known the face only remained lit for 10 seconds! And half the time the wrist flick doesn't work.

@joyel413, as mentioned above, have you tried the Chrongraph watch?
It has both analog and digital displays, with a quick activating stopwatch that stays on until it is shutoff.

My fault for not checking all of the Blaze's reviews. I would have hoped the clock would show all of the time and it would disappear when you swiped the blaze's face. I would have re-purchased the surge which I loved until its screen shattered into an alligator pattern.
An option to turn the watches clock on all of the time would be great.
...and the quick view, unless i rapidly move my arm, it does not work very good.
Hoping fitbit provides a fix for the above issues.

The whole concept of a fitness watch NOT being able to easily work as a watch display is stupid to me.
The wrist flicking to get the watch to illuminate is very annoying and unreliable. Like others have noted the Surge has allowed for the time to be always displayed for years. I'd be willing to sacrifice battery life to to enable the Blaze and Ionic to always function as a watch.
The is the single most important feature to me if the device is supposed to be worn as a watch. I cannot sacrifice the functionality of a watch in favor of the fitness tracker. Actually just the opposite, I'm more inclined to forget about the fitness tracking ability and go back to a standard watch.
I'd love to talk with the product engineer to understand how to make constant display of time a reality.

@BrianLynch yes the Surge eith its LCD screen stays on, just like wvery other watch on the market tgat has an LCD screen. Liquid Crystals use very little current. An LCD screen does not produce its own light, and depends on an external light source.
The Blaze with its LED screen uses a lot more current, and has a time out feature just like every other watch on the market that has an LED screen.
If you would like to try something, choose tye Chronograph face, hold in the select button. A quick start stopwatch will activate. This stopwatch will keep the screen on until the Blaze battery goes dead.
Let us know how many hours you get.

I have had my blaze for less than a week and the clock doesn't always come on when I move or raise my arm. It is very annoying when I use it for the watch and I can't see it. Something needs to change when you pay so much for it it should work!

I've had mine for about 15 months and have never had a problem so either you have a faulty one or you're doing something wrong.

@Jahgolf make sure your forearm is close to horizontal before twisting the wrist.90°

<sigh> It is what it is, and Fitbit shows *zero* interest in fixing it.
Mine works correctly maybe 20% of the time. Honestly I don't wear it any more unless I'm working out. It's not a watch, despite Fitbit's pretensions otherwise.

But during a workout the screen is off, too. You have to wave your arm around or slap on the Blaze to see elapsed time etc. Not possible when I'm doing pushups or planks. And there is no possibility to configure the screen staying on on workout mode. That was one of the reasons why I changed to another brand.
