Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!

undefined

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page

Setup Steps:

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
  • iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
  • Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
  • Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
  • Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
  • When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
  • If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

Hi EmersonFitbit,

I have tried all your steps below and have had an issue sporadically with notifications not working and usually I can restart my fitbit or update software and that works but all the above has been done and it's been over a week now that I still don't get notifications.  Notifications are turned on in my Blaze, bluetooth is on.  I'm not sure what else to try.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

@Beaglelover while I find I don't need to, some have reported that they need to be connected to the Internet for the connected gps to work.. As soon as it connects the network can be turned off.

This is just in case you turn cell data off.

@Fizzie94, can you verify the app name? I was unable to find any app called BitTracker in Google Play. Sounds interesting, but I can't find it. Can you check the name of that app?

My Blaze used to show my text messages, but no longer doing it, I have followed every step to make this happen but nothing works. As I said, it worked great for a while, then it stopped although I have done nothing to the Blaze or my iPhone 6

Having just excitedly bought a Blaze each for my husband and myself, I am very disappointed to see that our Sony Xperia Z5 Compact phones are not compatible to receive notifications. This was one of the persuading reasons why we got the Blaze and it would be a shame if we had to return them. Is there any way around this problem or are there any plans to make this phone compatible soon? Thanks

Here's my $.02 on this topics and I apologize now if this has already been said, I'm not reading 28 pages of comments.

I had my Blaze for about 2 months now and one of the biggest issues I have is the inability to see multiple text messages on my watch. If I get one message I can read most of it fine but if I get 2 or more it just say 2 messages and shows the senders names. I feel it would be much better to have the ability to break each sender apart, maybe showing the msg or number of messages. Then select that sender and see all they msg's they've sent. They ability to delete should also be found at each level and a simple reply option would be nice. Maybe some replies like, "I'm busy, call later.", " In a meeting.", "Will do." I think you get the point.

Also, You should update Android devices to accept or reject calls.

This device has potential, don't let us down.

Hi, i've just got my fitbit Blaze on Saturday. I'm from Russia, and now on vacation in Usa. Today i realize that Blaze doesn't recognize russian. All my messages are in Russian languages. Instead of the message i've got "???????". I didn't get phone calls yet, but I guess I'll see "???????" instead of the name(((. Are there some settings I don't know about?

@Rich_Laue Thank you for your help. I'll save these instructions for later. There is no Russian Federation on the list. Maybe it'll show up when i go back to Russia (now i'm in USA), but actually i have no hope.
