Blaze can provide Call, Text, and Calendar notifications so that you can stay connected!

undefined

This post will provide instructions on how to setup your alerts so that you can see who's texting you, the content of the messages, who's calling, and what your calendar has on deck for you. For a detailed overview of alerts for Blaze, please see this help page

Setup Steps:

  1. Make sure that your mobile device is compatible with our notifications feature by visiting http://www.fitbit.com/devices
  2. On your mobile device, make sure Bluetooth is enabled, and make sure your device is nearby! Note that you'll only receive notifications on your tracker when your mobile device is within this radius.
  3. Open the Fitbit app on your mobile device and tap your tracker tile at the top of your mobile dashboard.
  4. Tap your tracker tile a second time, tap Notifications, and then turn on call notifications.
  5. To verify that set up was successful, look at the list of Bluetooth-connected devices on your mobile device. Your tracker name should appear.

Using Alerts:

You can easily see all of your alerts by swiping up from the home screen. Here, you'll see previous incoming calls, text messages for the day, and calendar alerts as well. You may delete these alerts either individually or all at once.

Notes

  • For Android users, please ensure that you've turned notification access on in your settings and enabled each notification in the Fitbit App. Please also ensure that message preview is toggled on in your phone's settings, as this should help populate the message content.
  • iOS users should allow reception of text notifications in their Notification Center settings, in addition to the workflow for alerts in the Fitbit app for iOS.
  • Calendar notifications use the native calendar app in iOS, and the native or select 3rd party apps on Android.
  • Windows Phones don't support alerts at this time.
  • Fitbit trackers currently don't support emojis. Notifications containing emojis will show a blank square, instead of the emoji that was sent.
  • Text messages won't show up if the message app is open on your phone.
  • When using Message+, your Fitbit tracker will show a notification that looks something like this: (Contact Name – 1 New Message). This is because when messages are received in Message+, they're stored that way in the notifications center on Android.
  • If you receive more than one text message in succession from the same person, your tracker may group the messages together as "2 New Messages" or "3 New Messages" instead of showing a preview of the message text.

Hello all, I hope you are doing fine! Woman Very Happy If you are having problems receiving notifications, I recommend checking if your phone is a compatible mobile device. If your phone is compatible, follow our calls texts notifications troubleshoot by @SantiR (iOS) and @MarreFitbit (Android). If it is not compatible, keep an eye on our list for any update, keep in mind that you can sync with a computer or compatible device.

See you around! Woman Happy

I have figured out how to enable notifications on my Blaze, but I get multiple notifications for 1 text message. How do I make it notify me just once like it is supposed to?

Welcome to the Community @RianaD. If you are receiving multiple notification from 1 text, I recommend restarting your Blaze. After the restart process, please test it.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy

My blaze gives me multiple notifications from my galaxy s6 edge. I use messenger+. How do I fix this?

Mine does this too, and I think that (for me anyway), this is part of the
reason why Fitbit say that the Blaze is not compatible with my model of
mobile phone. Whilst I hope that Fitbit change this soon, I would rather
have multiple notifications than none at all, which is what I'm officially
supposed to be getting.

Sorry if this has been posted but from what I can tell there is no way to search a post, at least on mobile (come on Fitbit). Anyhow, after spending hours trying to get text notifications to appear on iOS, I finally found that "show in Notification Center" has to be enabled in "messages" notification settings or no iOS text mssgs on Blaze. Makes no sense, sounds like a bug, but that's how it is.

@climbbike both iOS and Android have a notification center, and that is used by Fitbit and other wearable and fitness device vendors that support notifications. App(s) need to be configured to show in notification center (and possible other settings like show on lock screen). Thats just the way it works for a device to receive notifications from iOS or Android.

Maybe true, don't know but I found that no where in the user guide or any trouble shooting steps that I was able to find any where. Anyhow, glad it's working now.

Hi. I'm having trouble getting calendar notifications on my blaze since I purchased it a couple of weeks ago. I get phone and message notification but no calendar. I've tried all the suggested troubleshooting options but nothing works. Any other help? It's an iOS platform. Thanks

I think fitbit needs to do an update so we can quick reply to text messages.. That would be really helpful for when at work or away from your phone.

@Danielleray1 @Jacobaliath This issue will be addressed in our new firmware update coming in September.

@Pigtails71 If your mobile device isn't a supported device, I expect it to have issues. I recommend using a supported mobile device for notifications until our team adds the device to the list. They're always working to test and add devices so keep an eye on the list for updates.

@climbbike Definitely not a bug, we're respecting your phone's privacy settings.

@Mubs iOS calendar notifications only support the Apple calendar app. If you're using any other app it will nnot receive notifications from other apps.

@Tjones815 That's a pretty cool suggestion! I recommend adding that as an idea to our Feature Request board and making sure to vote for it. The more votes it gets, the more likely to be considered for implementation in future releases.

For my Blaze to be connected to my iphone my ipad has to be off.  Just tried this and figured that out.  If i power on my ipad, the blaze disconnects from my iphone.

@SunsetRunner and @GavinBlaze welcome to the Fitbit Community! @SunsetRunner If you receive call, text, or calendar notifications on your Fitbit tracker, your tracker has a Bluetooth "bond" with the mobile device that sends the notifications. This bond prevents the tracker from syncing with another mobile device or a computer this might be why you need to turn off the iPad to sync with your iPhone. @GavinBlaze We can not provide you a specific time frame for the update to be released keep an eye on this thread for any update! 🙂

I'm having the same problems. I have restarted my Blaze, turned off notifications, uninstalled on my phone. Turned notifications off then restarted my blaze. Nothing is working. I am getting 3 messages alerts for 1 single text message.
