So fitbit have declined implementing a screen protector

"Fitbit Blaze screen is made of Gorilla Glass 3, which means its a durable material and damage resistant."

I'm not rough with my products I've never cracked a phone screen, dropped anything etc. I dont sleep with my blaze on instead my Charge HR and yet this morning I got dressed put on a jumper and what do you know there is a scratch there!

So Fitbit arent these suppose to be damage resistant?  Based on what you have answered to the declined idea I should be eligible for an exchange. As putting on a jumper should not scratch this. Very disappointed! I've had it a week!

For those saying it has gorilla glass, so it "can't just break" - you seem to not own the Blaze. Me? My work day consists of a lot of sitting. I go grocery shopping. I work out. No part of my day should result in damage to that screen. And yet on day 7, I noticed the edge of the glass had a small, salt grain sized nick taken out of it. Literall NOTHING I do should have caused this. Even bumping a wall (literally the only possible thing I can think of that I possibly did) should cause this. And guess what? If happened. The durability was incredibly disappointing. If I want a product that I'm OK with minor dings to, I'm just going to stick to a charge HR. Not a $200 Blaze which should have much higher quality and durability than it does. I returned it promptly. I didn't want a replacement if it didn't even last 2 weeks of my not so crazy work life.

Mine just did the same! I nice crack simply from it bumping the kitchen counter while walking by. Nice durability for a sports watch. It's been here for a total of 5 days...

I returned mine promptly - the lack of durability was
just inexcusable.

I'm truly shocked. I literally pull mine through its paces 24/7. The only real wear and tear is the leather band which is to be expected. I also work with heavy tools, grinders and machinery around steel and not a single micro damage. The only real complaint I have is the sensitivity of the screen which constantly turns on by itself with the slightest movement. Yes, Quick View is turned off. I'll never buy another Fitbit that has a screen tap function.

I bought the blaze craked after 3 days took it back to the retailer, they were very helpful phoned Fitbit the guy on the other end could hardly be heard, told him this he said well my mike is on full volume must be your fault. asked about the cracked screen and was told they dont just crack, odviously they do looking at the forum. Retailer replaced it but I chose TomTom this time have had no problems. I was very dissapointed with Fitbits customer service will never buy another one.

The screen should not crack that easily, however on Amazon they do sell screen protectors. Some are not just a plastic foil, but an actual thin piece of glass cut in the right size.

Similar problem with my new Blaze. I have had it for less than a week and this morning I woke up to find the screen looking like a spiderweb. I sleep like a log and rarely move from a prone position on my back. I cannot think of how or what could have happened but it was definitely not a hammer blow. Possibly when turnning to my side and placing my arm under my head? I expected more from the gorilla glass (even "thinner" version). Not sure if this was a defect, pressure or a light tap but any way, it shouldn't have happened.

I contacted support but was told that the glass is not covered under warranty and was offered a 25% discount on purchase of a replacement.

Suggestions? Anyone?

Wow, funny how now after tons of complaints suddenly it isn't under warranty. When I asked about it- they said they could send a new one but mine would have to be sent back (unlike when an HR or something breaks). I instead returned it and purchased an Apple Watch for a little more money, way more durability, and way more features.

I would gladly accept the option of mailing this one in for replacement but that wasn't offered. I may be SOL. Sad after such limited time. I already feel like I've lost a friend!
Sent from my LG G4, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

You should try talking to tech support again.  Mine cracked last night while I was sleeping and they are sending me a replacement.  I'm a little scared to keep it though seeing how easy they crack.  Will definitely be buying a screen protector.

After two tries with support I got a replacement sent to me. Once I received confirmation of the new one being sent I immediately ordered a screen protector; I got the Kimlar tempered glass. When I received the new "pebble" (the tech's term, not mine) I immediately covered the Gorilla Glass with the tempered glass.

I have been wearing it for a few days since that time. I can happilly report no further issues. At first I was overly protective, almost to the point of obsession. After a day that morphed into being overly sensitive to any slight tap that the Blaze receives during a normal day (it is a watch on a swinging appendage which occasionally whacks tables, doors, walls, etc.)

With all the normal wear-and-tear that I have put my Blaze through in the last few days there hasn't been even the slightest mark. I will keep you updated here.

Ok, the scoop:
Support came through with a replacement for my Blaze. Thanks for that resolution!

The original got a broken screen after wearing to bed - cause unknown; maybe bumped against the headboard or nightstand or maybe pressure from my head if I put my arm under while laying on my side (my wife does say my head is full of bricks so the weight there could be an issue...)

I got a tempered glass screen protector for the replacement and have been wearing it for a week or so with no issues.

I have paid close attention to my activities and my heart rate jumps significantly - thanks to my Blaze I can track this happening! - every time I feel my Blaze bump up against anything (walls, doors, tables, counters, etc.). I just know that it will be cracked; and yet, it has withstood every bump like a champ.

I can fully recommend the screen protector. The gorilla glass *should* be sufficient to save the wearer from an occasional/accidental bump but obviously that is not always the case. Kimilar is the way I went but there are several out there for a similar price range.

I feel the biggest problem with the Blaze's design is the glass edges aren't curved at all. So anything that hits it has a risk of chipping it.
