Blaze Won't Turn On

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Last night I charged my Blaze.

When I took it off charge it shows nothing on the screen.

I have tried every combination of buttons to power on and nothing happens.

When I put it back in its cradle there is nothing displayed on the screen.

Fitbit app says it is looking for the device.

Any ideas?

So this keeps happening since March. No one seems to care. They want me to charge the battery. Well that is all fine and dandy but it turns off and then not back on. Then the battery dies and then it will charge and the process starts all over again for a few weeks to days. So in the meantime, I have not been able to use the Fitbit. Then they tell me it is not syncing for two days. Well, I know that on the 11th I had my bluetooth on as my phone is pared to my car and I have the fitbit pared to it. Not my fault.

What did Fitbit support have to say @SunsetRunner?

Just to charge it again and they will check the charge. Nothing about the on and off issue. I tried t explain but they won't listen. I tried to take it back to Walmart and they wanted the original box even though I bought the extended warranty. I am starting to think I am out of luck. If they don't make it right I will not be sure to buy another one. They must not sale them anymore so that makes me nervous. they are not that old and mine is only just going on 6 months old. .

I picked up a blaze a little while ago and was having issues with it not wanting to charge so I had it replaced. The one I currently own I had it charged but when I took it off the charger the screen will not turn on and I have tried everything possible to get it to turn on. I tried getting a hold of the company but was disconnected during the conversation. Not happy with how things have gone.

I don't know why this isn't a major issue with them. I'll repeat what
worked for me: Factory reset then get it in the charging cradle as soon as
the screen lights up. Once in the cradle make sure the display is showing
something preferable the battery. Its important to get it on the cradle
fast because I think the battery is very empty and it will need power asap.

HTH.

@rumpole6 since there is no stated procedure for a factory reset, this will require setting up the Blaze as a new device .the Blaze I'm wondering what steps are required to do said factory reset.

*How to restart your Fitbit Blaze*

1. Press and hold the Back and Select buttons - the button on the left
and bottom right - until you see the Fitbit logo on the Blaze's screen.
2. Let go of the buttons.

I have tried doing this and it won't even let me reset it. The screen won't
light up unless it's plugged into the cradle

Hey there, I have tried this but it won't even reset. The screen will not do anything unless it's plugged into the cradle, and the buttons won't work either to attempt to reset it

Well, it is 8:58 am and my blaze won't move out of last night's time. It finally moved to Sunday but it says it is 12:25. I keep trying and trying to sick. I have restarted me phone and Blaze 3 times. I have only 163 steps and it would not register my heart rate

Have you tried removing the Blaze from your phones Bluetooth. Do not remove from the app.

I assume that your on android and it looks as if the Blaze does turn on and we have hijacked the thread .

Not all of these steps are in the help doc, but have been found to fix a sync problem

If your tracker has ever synced through a different device and if said device is within 50 feet, we need to turn it's Bluetooth off. With the latest Bluetooth phones this is now 150 feet.

Is the phone connected to WiFi, if so let's try syncing through cellular.

Make sure that the Fitbit app and the phone OS are up to date.

Swipe any uneeded apps out of memory.

Clear the Fitbit apps cache, do a search, the way to clear cache will depend on the android version.

Of course you can try to sync after any or all steps.

Finally if still not syncing

Turn Bluetooth off

Remove the Fitbit app

Restart the phone

Turn the Bluetooth on

Install and run the Fitbit app

The reset method did work for me but I believe I also let it die first, and
maybe did it twice?

I was just telling someone else that it did work for me but I had to let it
die and then charge then reset. I also had my phone app on. recently it
was so out of sync it drove me crazy - eight hours off etc. I just made it
sync to my phone a couple times..fixed.

I charged my Blaze all night - the screen still wouldn't work and it wouldn't sync. While the Fitbit symbol did not appear when I reset it, it started charging when I placed it back on the charger after holding the left and lower right buttons. Thanks so much!

I just bought my Fitbit Blaze today.  Charged it about 3 hours.  Battery icon was fully green, but when I open the cradle, it goes black.

Apparently this issue with the device not turning on and not restarting has been going on since 2016 and there is some underlying issue with the manufacturing of this product.

Other than just saying to call Support, has Fitbit addressed this issue?

I have been trying to get this thing to work for 3 hours.  I am so annoyed that a brand such as Fitbit has this type of consistent issue without a solid solution in the support site. Chat window does not give you the ability to chat, as mentioned by another commenter.  That needs to be fixed at once. If I can't get support on the phone first thing in the morning and have a solution, it's going right back to the store.

Okay, this is crazy!!! I am so tired of my Blaze just working when it wants to. I bought the extended warranty from Walmart but it is a lot of worthlessness.
MY My Fitbit will not change time today. It is stuck at some odd hours. Right now it tells me it is 9:47 Am? It is actually 5:59 pm Central TIME.
I have been wearing it since 6am or sooner and It took HOURS to change to TUESDAY. It was stuck at Monday for hours, hours. I tried to charge it again this morning and it did not change the day or date until way into the afternoon.
So why can’t you fix it? It is my 3rd or 4th Fitbit and I like the product. I used to have a little one that my puppy ate, went through the washing machine, kept working for years.

WHAT IS THE DEAL? I should not have to jump through hoop and  try to figure out how to keep it happy to work. I should just have to put it one, wear it and walk. I just looked it is not syncing and I use my Bluetooth on my phone all day long. I have it on in my car all day long.

I am sick of this being a big deal as it only happens a few times a month but that is crazy. Wishing all my friends had a Garmen or another fitness tool.
