Let's look at the expected battery life of a Blaze.  This is based on LiPo battery life expectations

Best Case Battery Life

250 recharges @ 4 days per charge= 1000 days

10000 /365= 2.75 years

Best Case Battery Life

150 recharges @ 3 days per charge= 450 days

450 / 365= 1.23 years

My Blaze began to fail about a month ago.  It now last about 15 hours per charge.  My Blaze  lasted about 0.7 years.

Why would Fitbit sell us a product that performs like this?

It seems to me the Fitbit product fail is by design. I am done spending
lots of money on a product that continually dies. It is so frustrating.

I enjoyed the Fitbit setup as well, but the battery issues were something I
could not deal with anymore as I had purchased three of them and they all
had the same problem with the battery dying. I will find another product to
purchase to monitor my fitness and my healthy lifestyle.

I apologize for mistakes in my prior post.  I became excited and failed to proof it prior to pressing the post button.

Let's look at the expected battery life of a Blaze.   I suspect these same numbers also apply to other Fitbit devices.

This is based on Lithium Polymer (LIPO) battery life projections

Best Case Battery Life

250 recharges @ 4 days per charge= 1000 days

10000 /365= 2.75 years product life

Most Likely Battery Life

150 recharges @ 3 days per charge= 450 days

450 / 365= 1.23 years product life

I suspect most Fitbit users utilize more than the basic functionality of their product.  This includes GPS, telephone and message notifications. All of these things further reduce battery life. I also suspect that most Fitbit users recharge their devices overnight.  They does this they will have enough battery for the next day.  This will further reduce the expected life of the Fitbit device.

My family has experienced premature failures of the base Fitbit, Fitbit HR and now the Blaze.  None of these product have provided us with reasonable

Wouldn’t it have been great if Fitbit offered their customers information on the expected battery life of their devices and recommendations on charging? Educating owners on these issues might help owners get a bit more useful life out of their devices.

Fitbit has designed their products so that the batteries cannot be replaced.  This means that the device is basically worthless once a battery fails.  Replaceable batteries would have gone a long way in minimizing owners’ frustration and lost investment.  A battery that is easily replaced by a user would have allowed customers get more life out of their device and to protect their investment

My Blaze began to fail about a month ago.  It now last about 15 hours per charge.  My Blaze has lasted about 0.7 years.  Perhaps Fitbit will replace this under warranty.  If so, the replacement will also likely fail in less than a year.  Perhaps they will offer a 25% discount on another Fitbit device that will also fail in a year.  WOW!!!

Why would Fitbit sell us products that perform like this?

My blaze is just over a year old and only lasts 6 hours!

Fitbit has said its an issue between the blaze and my Samsung s8's Bluetooth, not sure if that's true!

They have told me to turn everything off like messages, phone calls syncing etc.

what is the pint of having this blaze if you cant use its functions!!!

I've had my Blaze for at least 2 years and today (July 18,2018) is the first time I've had an issue with the battery.  I charged it overnight last night and it drained in 4 hours.  Recharged it and it drained in 2 hours.  Is there any solution that works?  I'd really like to keep using the Blaze.  It's like a friend!

I, too like the Blaze platform and layout. I don't know of a way to fix
it. You will probably have to buy a new one if you want to keep using it.

Were you able to replace the battery successfully? Do you recommend this as a solution? I've had my Blaze for about two years and out of the blue the battery charge life has dropped to one day at best and getting worse. Thanks for the info.

I'm probably not going to try to replace the battery.  I may purchase a new one, or move on to a different tracker altogether based on the problems people have reported.  I am so disappointed!

I agree. I also was very disappointed. I do like the Fitbit. Its the
quality of the product that is driving people to purchase other trackers

Fitbit does not offer any repairs of their products.  They also do not offer any parts to have done repairs.  They apparently consider their products to be "throwaways"

I found a listing on the internet about battery replacement.  The site said the replacement is "difficult".  I suspect it would cost at least $75 to have a professional to replace the battery.

Isn't this disappointing!

It's very interesting that they do not offer any repairs for their products
and that they may consider the devices throwaways. We spend a lot of money
on them to be throwaways.

I tried to call the executive offices at Fitbit.  Impossible to get through to anyone other than their normal customer service people.  I want to let their executives know what customers are really experiencing when they use their product

I sent a letter to to James Parks, the Chief Executive Officer of Fitbit.  That has been 2 weeks ago.  NO RESPONSE!

Yes we did replace the battery (not straight forward at all) and it worked fine for a day and a half, then went back to total power loss within a couple of hours of being charged. I gave up and bought a Charge 2.

I've followed your advice (begrudgingly) and my fitbit won't hold a charge...WHILE I'M SLEEPING!!! I also tested it just by taking it off the charger and leaving it alone on a desk, it won't even last a day sitting there, doing nothing. It's troubling that it went from a 3-5 day charge, do somewhere around a 5-8 HOUR charge. I mean, realistically speaking, would YOU be happy with this outcome? Forget the fact that you work for the company, really stop and think about it, would you be happy with this?
