ISSUE: Can't sync or pair Blaze with an iOS device

BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSIONS AFFECTED: (8.301.7) & (8.200.3)

iOS VERSIONS AFFECTED: 10.2.x

*** FIXED IN BLAZE FIRMWARE VERSION (8.301.8) ***

Still having trouble? Can't update or sync?

Read the difference between unbonding and unpairing first:

Unbonding - going into the bluetooth settings of your iPhone or iPad, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Forget This Device".

Unpairing - going into the Fitbit app, selecting the Blaze, then choosing "Remove This Blaze".

*** DO NOT DO THIS TO TROUBLESHOOT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE ***

Now that you've read that, try unbonding BEFORE trying to update your Blaze firmware (see screenshots below):

  1. Go to your iOS device's Settings > Bluetooth > Find Blaze in the "My Devices" list.
  2. Tap the info icon and tap "Forget this Device".

Okay, I've unbonded. Now what?

Try syncing your Blaze, then try to update the firmware.

Still can't sync or update? Here are some suggestions:

  1. Try doing some standard sync troubleshoots
  2. Sync/update using an alternate device (if possible)

Updated on 1/20/17 for clarity.

Let me start of with FINALLY! All up and running about 10 minutes ago with notifcation from apps and emails plus syncing functioning so far. Forgot it in bluetooth AND In fitbit app then setup as new device and smooth sailing since. Still in monitoring mode and will update if any issue arises. Anyway, keep up the goodwork fitbit. (Wondering what is fitbit's future plans with all that pebble assets.. yes was a pebble hardcore fan 😉 )

Be real helpful if you actually told people the steps for updating the device's firmware instead of making them search more....

So I need the update to 8.301.8 (I am currently on 8.301.7)

But there is no pink arrow showing in the iOS app (latest version)

Is this an internet propogation problem - I am currently in the UK but reside in NZ

it is currently 04.01 GMT here

What does it mean that sync has been way more reliable for me since the latest iOS update? Should I NOT install the firmware update (if it ever comes to my watch... I didn't get the last one for over a week after the release).

Same. Fitbit died right after IOS update now it's not even a functioning watch...

Fixed my problem on iOS 10.2 iPhone 6s by

1. Turning off Bluetooth

2. deleting the Fitbit app and

3. re-downloading the Fitbit

4. Logging in to the app with Fitbit login

5. Turning Bluetooth back on

After this appears to be working fine.

Note that I was not asked to nor did I upgrade the firmware - it remains at 8.301.7

How do I update my Blaze to version 8, as recommended for syncing issues cause by the IOS update?

Have unistalled the app. Reinstalled it. Forgotten it on Bluetooth etc.

Nothing working. Newly installed app can't find the Blaze. Never had a pink arrow showing to update.

Fitbit totally unusable.

Pretty shambolic to be honest...

See if your Blaze will pair up with your iphone at all by going into the app and there will be a red line that says UPDATE, just click it...

I deleted the device as didn't have any update showing.

Now I am unable to re-set it up as a new device because the app can't find it at all. Just constantly searching for it.

While this seemed to solve the sync issue, now the battery drains really quickly. I was at medium, accourding to the app when i went to bed 7 hours ago only to wake up with the battery dead.  Before all this, i would only lose about 20% in a full day, but to lose 30-40% in 7 hours, something is not right.

i had the same problem on my iphone 6 for days now,

i simply went to bluetooth and forget this device and done a fresh pair  with the fitbit blaze,

it took longer than normal to work but when you enter the activation number it will take a few minutes to activate... everything back to normal.........21-12-2016

Just a quick update.  26 minutes on the charger went from dead battery to full.

Other steps i took took to see if the battery drain can be fixed.

1. Removed device from app

2. Deleted app from phone

3. Removed device from phone's bluetooth settings

4. Restarted phone.

5. Restarted Blaze. ( holding left button and right bottom button down until blue diamond appears)

6. Installed fitbit app on phone

7. Logged into fitbit app

8. Add fitbit to app (not through the phones bluetooth set).

Will update later to see how battery level is.

I have followed the steps verbatim and have still been unsuccessful.  My Fitbit Account continues to note "looking" fore my device.  I would appreciated any other recommendations.

Hi
After I went in to Bluetooth a hit forget this device and tried to pair it back again when I entered the 4 digit code it took around 5mins to work , i went looking for another solution and didn't realise it was still trying to connect as I thought that the process was unsuccessful
But it did work !
Try it again and maybe leave it for 5-10 minutes
Hope this helped
