Fitbit won't turn on

I let my Fitbit battery die a few days ago as I forgot to charge it. It has now been on charge for three consecutive days and the screen will still not turn on. How do I fix this?

well, it seems that either the battery on my Blaze is the issue or there is a software issue. I had been wearing my Blaze all day yesterday and had deactivated Quick View, when early in the evening noticed that tapping on the Blaze would not activate the screen and the lights on the back of the Blaze were not lighting up either and my app would not connect to the Blaze, indicating that it was trying to locate the Blaze. The screen was black and would not light up. I tried recharging the battery but it still would not activate. I then took the Blaze off and left it for the night. and this morning when I picked it up the screen lit up indicating that the battery was very nearly dead. My app now connected and on checking the battery level indicated that the battery was medium even though the Blaze itself was indicating that the battery was nearly dead.

As noted above, when it was working after dying, the Blaze did not track my sleep...I had to manually enter my sleep...nor did it track any activity although it did track my steps. Also, it still will not react to swiping left so I cannot access any of the screens other than the clock, notifications/music control and messages. I wanted to try turning off my Blaze but since I cannot access the settings screen I can't do that either. I need some help and am very disappointed that the Blaze is not working as it should.

BTW, I just noticed that the lights, (LEDs?) on the back of the Blaze aren't working either. Probably why it's not tracking my heart rate, activity minutes or sleep.

Well, the saga continues. Last night my Blaze stopped working again No screen no lights, no response whatsoever. I took the Fitbit off for the night and this morning when I touched the screen, it showed the battery symbol indicating that the battery was discharged and nearly dead. I charged the Blaze again and lo and behold, everything came back. Even the lights/diodes/LEDs on the back are working.

I can now swipe left again through all the screens and it is once again tracking my steps, heart rate, stairs, calories, etc. Don't know about sleep as I didn't wear it last night, but assuming it's still working tonight I'll find out,

I'm very sorry to hear you're having all these problems with your tracker @RHstats 😕

Since you're telling me things seem to be working fine by now, keep an eye on it and let me know if anything happens. I'll be happy to take a look and see what our options are.

@EmeraldK, that's great to hear! 😄 Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

Actually, it seems that most of my problems have resolved themselves. My Blaze now tracks all my activities, sleep, heart rate exercise, etc. The only problem that I have now is that when I swipe left and open one of the icons e.g  Today, I cannot get back to the clock screen without putting the Blaze into the charger. While not critical, it is quite annoying.

Hi @RHstats, thanks for getting back!

Huh, that's strange definitely... Maybe you can attempt to set it up as a new device to see if that makes anything better. For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem and you should be able to use it properly.

Let me know how it goes!

@VickyHoun, I'm sorry to hear that. Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

Have you tried by any chance to restart your tracker? If not, You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.  Try it out after that and see how it goes.

Let me know if you need more help!

Thanks for getting back and letting me know @VickyHoun!

I'd like to know... If you put your tracker in the charger, will anything at all come up on the display? Will it show that it's charging or show anything else? Also, is your tracker syncing and just not turning on or it doesn't do both, turn on and sync at all?

I'll be looking forward for your reply to get you back on track!

I actually did that. That's when everything came back except for being able to go back to the home screen after swiping left and opening a screen.

Mine has stopped working now too.

Tried holding the 2 buttons down for 15 seconds - nothing.

It has been on charge and whilst it's in it's charger, there's nothing on the screen and the screen won't respond.  I have even changed plugs and sockets just in case that was the cause.

I have given all all of the connections a quick clean.

The app shows that it's trying to connect to the Fitbit but no connection actually occurs.

Any help would be most appreciated please.  Thanks in advance.

I would let it sit for a day or so and it may come back but without full functionality. If that happens, go to your app and go into the account account settings and remove the blaze from your account, all your data and information will remain. Then go into "set up a device" and try to reconnect to your Blaze as the new device.

This worked for me...I had the same issues as you. See my posts above.

Hi just bought my fitbit blaze today and can't get it to turn on. When I plug it in first the battery shows up (and it's fully charged) then the clock shows up and I can swipe up and the no notifications show up and I can swipe down and turn off or the notifications. It won't let me go anywhere else from here and turns off the moment I open the charging case. Please help feeling very disappointed.

Hi there @Becki1. Good to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're having problems with your Blaze not turning on 😕

Have you already tried to restart it by any chance? If not, You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

If it doesn't work the first time, do it at least two more times and see if that makes any difference. Let me know how it goes!

Tried everything. My new blaze won't turn on. It has been fully charged and set up on my account. Done the 15 second button thing.

Well, I'm joining the club of fitbit users whose fitbits spontaneously stopped working.  My worked perfectly all day yesterday but then I noticed at bedtime that the screen wouldn't turn on.  The HR lights were on on the back.  I didn't think it needed charging but thought it was worth a shot.  Put it on the charger - still no screen battery telling me it was working.  Left it on the charger last night, this morning I don't even have HR tracker lights.  I tried the reset.  Nothing.  I am hopeful time heals all wounds like the other user and this afternoon maybe it will spontaneously resurrect?  Any other ideas or what may have happened??
