Just done my first swim with charge 3 and it only shows time on the tracker (there is a clock on the wall for that) so my question is whether there is any way for it to show length count in real time while swimming?

And to add insult to injury my Flex 2 packed up this morning! Back to Argos I go! The joy.

Hi Kathy, thanks for your reply. I've emailed fitbit and since Ive only had this less than a month Im taking it back to Argos for an exchange. I'm giving it one more chance...I read somewhere that for whatever reason the lavender ones seemed to work better than the black strap ones so possibly a dodgy batch has been made. Either way its not good enough and if this packs up I will def keep Apple in mind.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding swim length tracking with Charge 3. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and feedback. Also, thanks for contacting customer support regarding this situation.
Your Charge 3 should capture all swimming stats. However, the Exercise app will only show the real-time duration of your swim o your device. The Exercise app doesn't capture other swim stats. Please check more details and information about swim tracking on this helpful article.
Hope this helps. Keep me posted!

Lengths are supposed to be already measured currently. Just for me and many other people, this feature does not even come close to working correctly. Fitbit has explicitly told me that they acknowledge the problem but have no immediate intention to fix it. It does not matter if you use the auto-track feature or the manual Exercise app. I have used both, and both show lap counts but are very incorrect. The Exercise app shows the duration while you are actually swimming, but once you are done it will show all the other stats in the mobile app, except for heart rate because it disables the heart rate monitor.

Such a disheartening thread! I just bought my Charge 3 yesterday---primarily for swimming. I'd researched and compared products, was down to the Garmin Vivosmart 4 and the Charge 3, and guess I should have waited a few more weeks and gone with the Garmin. So very disappointed in this product already. I bought it at Kohls--I wonder if I can return it?

Hey guys! It is great to see you all participating here! Thanks for your feedback in regards of swim length tracking on your Charge 3. The exercise app will only show the real-time duration of your swim on your device. Keep in mind that this doesn't capture other swim stats. However your comments and suggestions are very important to us, since our team is always working in order to add more features or improve those that already exist, to give you all the motivation you need to reach your fitness goals.

Just completed my first swim with this C3. 850m was recorded as 450m, and a second 400m swim as 175m. That is a pretty bad error rate. Worse yet, I can't find a way to edit the record to correct it.

Got the same problem. Also it showed me I burned 53 kcal for my 45 minute swim, which can't possibly be right.
I'm so disappointed by the fitbit charge 3. I was really looking forward to that tracker for swimming and having just the time on the watch is completely useless for me!
Also I'm having a long commute on the bike every day and at some point, around 30 min it will always loose connection to my phones GPS and I have incomplete stats.
It's a really frustrating experience. I wish I hadn't bought it. Will look into returning it 😞

I agree. The Versa was too large for my write. The Charge 3 is the perfect size. I too swim, but it never tracks the laps correctly. Today I swam for 35 minutes and it recorded 19 laps. NOT TRUE. I swam almost a mile in a 25 meter pool. Anyone have better success tracking laps?

Pre-ordered the Charge 3 graphite/white 6 weeks ago. Only got it yesterday as there wasn't enough stock so I was already disheartened with the wait after already waiting for the release of a waterproof tracker that "tracks" swimming. I accepted that, ok with it, but now I've just learned that it doesn't display lenghts or distance on watch face during swimming. I am ultimately disgusted. As I've set it up and have been wearing it I don't think I'll be able to exchange it now for the versa.

I wore mine for a week and it didn't register how many swim lengths I did like it's supposed to. I returned mine and got a full refund. The fitbit versa is a lot better.

Hi Brighton2018,
My fitbit will track lenghts correctly once I swim freestyle/frontcrawl but they still haven't updated it to display this on screen. I will only see the lenghts swam on my phone when it syncs which I feel is pointless as I still have to count the lenghts .

The Charge3 is pretty useless for swimmers. I assumed correct tracking and it did seem that is how it was advertised but I probably didn't read it closely enough. First fitbit faulty and second doesn't do what I hoped. No more fitbits for me!

Exactly. Doesn't give any useful stats or info at all, only what you can figure out yourself-how long you swam and how many lengths. MOOV is 1/3 the price and gives useful stats: lengths, ID's stroke, distance per stroke, time per length, rest time vs swim time, turn time. Not always accurate, but more so on length count than by fitbit charge 3, and info swimmers can use. Downside of MOOV is its cheapo band/latch mechanism--they tend to fall off.
