April 2024 Sleep Downgrade

I've been happy with Charge 5 sleep data for two years. Over night it's all gone!! Only a single page of data. So disgusted. Is Google forcing me to upgrade to Premium or buy Charge 6?

I will not choose either.

Anyone done the research for better tech from a different company? I hope before Christmas I can find a new watch and leave Google behind. Bye bye Google.

I have the same complaint and I already have Premium! New format is awful.

Hello @Sandyshaws

All your sleep data is still there in the Fitbit app. There are now tiles/buttons that take you to other pages that have the data. This Fitbit blog post gives more info as well as a link where you can provide feedback: Redesigned Sleep experience (<-- click link).

I have premium already…..and this new change in sleep data is horrible.  Plus it does not display on my fitbit watch.

That may be true, but the ugly blocky first screen is not user friendly. Why were the beautiful graphs replaced with these rudimentary ones?

Hello @Sabine418

The change to the Sleep data is part of the Fitbit redesign that started rolling out last year. This 9to5 Google article (<-- click link) provides more information about Fitbit's future.

I agree, I would like to find a new watch too, maybe change 6 if it's worth it that is.

This redesign is awful and with the news I read of Google planning to phase
out Fitbit in favor of their own Google Plex, it’s a downgrade and an
insult. My subscription is now less valuable and I will be switching to
another tracker as soon as I can if they don’t return the quality of the
sleep graphs.

Hi,Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the update. Premium users also got new design. 9 days since the update. Floodgates opened with complaints. Go back to old style is the consensus.Cheers.Sent from my Galaxy

Hi RieoC,

Thanks for sharing the link to better help understand the new sleep design. I don't like it.I also read the article.https://9to5google.com/2024/04/12/google-fitbit-design-us/

Wow! The first part incorrectly uses quotation marks. Opening " 3 times but closing once is wrong. Perhaps AI wrote this. Next, the term "info-dense" is used to descibe what "some" users like. Well for 9 days all I have seen from the community is that "MOST" users like info-dense and feel empowered using it. But hey if a few wingers decide to shop elsewhere to get back what they have lost I'm guessing Google couldn't care less.

Cheers

I have a charge 6, and have the same problems with this update.  Also, if I wake up for any length of time in the night, it takes 24 hrs for the app to show my full sleep.  Then the second part doesn't show up in a graph at all.  I almost went with a different brand when my charge 5 died, but have so many years of data saved, they I finally went with charge 6.  Don't think I will next time.  Most of the updates have not been improvements for sure!

It's a new update on most of the fitbits now i think, which is awful, old version was so much better, I'm premium and it's the same, google are changing what doesn't need changing, I use a Android phone, so im looking into the same brand for a smart watch, after almost 10 yrs of being a fitbit user, disappointed 😞

I don't really like the new look either, I think the old one looked better. But I still like Fitbit, and I'm to get maybe a n updated one, I already have charge 5 which is two years old (had it since February 2022).
