In the Noom app, you can specify a daily calorie goal, say 1600. This limit is increased based on activity logged and estimated calories burned. If I enter an "exercise" where I burn 500 calories, the daily calorie goal for that day is bumped to 1850 (increased by 50% of burned calories). The calories I inputted came from my FitBit device

Hi, thanks for sharing your inquiry about the calorie goal on the Fitbit app, @oshelot.
A calorie deficit is when you burn more calories than you consume in a day. When you set a weight-loss goal in the Fitbit app, your daily calorie deficit target is determined by the level of intensity you choose for your food plan. I do see that your food plan or food budget for the day is dynamically adjusted to take into account the calories you're burning through exercise and other activities. You can review this information by accessing to the Food tile on the Fitbit app.
You can find more information on how to the food plan works in these articles or resources:
Hope this helps, I'll be around.
