I have had the new Charge 5 for 2 days. The battery discharges within a day. GPS is off, the phone is not set to always on. In looking over the troubleshooting instructions from Fitbit, it seems that you essentially have to disable all of the features that were selling points of this device in order to get decent battery life. Even my ancient Charge 3 got 6 days on one charge! Has anyone with this battery problem found a solution other than disabling everything?

Got firmware update last night. Went to bed with 98% battery charge woke up when the birds are chirping with a dead fitbit and no alarm 🙄 I had no battery issues until last night. I had Fitbit charge 5 since November. It seems to be draining very fast, about 10% per hour. The help chat was fast to reach but nothing that fixed the problem. I don't think he believed me that I charge it to 98% last night. Very disappointed 😞
Update: after a few restarts and full recharge, Charge 5 seems to be working okay. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Relief, yes a new firmware was released yesterday and I think it fixed my battery drain.
I fully charged my Fitbit yesterday evening and installed the new firmware, woke up this morning with a 97% battery, just a 3% loss while sleeping. Much better than the usual 60%-70% loss I was getting overnight!

No surprise. I have mine on charge now and will see. I responded to an older email that they sent me that they were working on it a couple of weeks ago requesting an update, but no response. They only offer a 90 day return; not a year like they use to. They will not replace and if you bought through a chain store they will only offer 90 days. If this does not get fixed soon, I will search the product and write reviews based on y experience. Not happy with Fitbit.

I am still waiting for the firmware to come my way. Any idea when is it due to arrive to the Europe/Asia region?

According to my device display and phone app, my firmware version is:
57.20001.171.50
Different than what the web site link states. But anyways, my battery has only drained 4% in the past 16 hours.

I don't think that is the firmware version that is fixing the battery drain issue. My device says 1.149.11 and mine is still draining. I have not received the update as of today. Maybe someone who has received the update can tell us what firmware version they have?!?

My Charge 5 suddenly did the same thing last night and drained the battery and the face will not turn on and it was working just fine. I have charged it and it seems to be holding the charge but the face still will not come back on. I have tried changing the face and restarting it and neither have fixed the issue.

@sjtpawar8 That's going to be a hardware problem, my Charge 4 failed because the ribbon cable came loose.

What version do you now have on your Fitbit? It is under settings and Device Info.....

I'm having the same issue. I fully charged my Charge 5, and the watch display is not working now.

Just charged it up and did the latest update.
Did. Not. Work.
It went from 99% to 75% in about 15 minutes.
