Charge 5 no longer shows sleep score on device, on app only?

Just recently noticed that my charge 5 will no longer show the sleep score on the watch but it does sync and shows on the phone.  What is up with this?  After several calls to customer support, no resolution.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Peppy12!

Sad to hear that you're having an issue tracking your sleep with your Charge 5.
As a first approach to hopefully get things fixed, I'd suggest restarting your it. Before doing so you should make sure you've synced your device to not lose any data tracked so far. Also you should verify that the charging contacts on your device are clean and the charging pins on it's charging adapter are clean as well and can move flawlessly. In doubt please have a look here:

How do I clean my Fitbit device?

Next please closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

I'd like to point out that it sometimes requires more than one attempt to restart Charge 5. So, before throwing the towel, please give it another try.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Lots of people have complained about this, and I haven't seen an actual solution suggested. Sleep scores do seem to show up first thing in the morning, but they disappear before noon, and after that they can only be seen in the app.

That is exactly what is happening. I have contacted support three times
with no resolution and have tried resets, removing app, reinstalls.

This issue not only happens on my Charge 5 but also occurs on other devices. A family member has the Luxe model and the same exact thing happens. She is running the new Fitbit app version and I am hanging on to the old 3.9 version as long as I can. So it looks like the type of Fitbit watch you have and the app version you’re running doesn’t really make a difference. Fitbit just needs to fix what they broke in a behind the scenes watch to app morning update.

Having the same problem since the recent update.  I think you need to check the update as this wasn’t a problem before.  Resetting isn’t fixing the issue.

My Charge 5 does not show sleep hours nor score. Does register in the APP. ????

Hey. The thing WONT sync.  It is clean.  I’m ready to toss out Fitbit.  And my son just bought one! Not happy at all!

The engineers need to fix this problem.  Going in circles doesn't fix anything.  It is obvious that nothing that telephone or chat support is suggesting is working.

Just started experiencing this yesterday when the charge 5 updated.  If it doesn't get fixed I will have to get another device, as I am only using the charge 5 for sleep monitoring. Hope they get their act together.

Actually, I did the device reset referenced at the beginning of this post, and now I have a sleep score. Yay.

--------

But now I only have a sleep score with none of the details. I suspect the details will show up later as they did yesterday. But it still seems like there must be an issue. I was also having the not charging problem until I did the reset.

Does it last all day or just a few hours in the morning only?

I tried the suggested process.   Sleep score problem persists.  I guess Fitbit has no clue as to problem nor fix.  🤪

I’ve tried hot and cold reboot. I only get simplified sleep score. This started about 10 days ago. Not immediately after firmware update but within days. FB is quite frustrating with all the glitches. My partner’s FB is okay after update. So it’s a hw/sw glitch on my device. I guess I will bite the bullet and go with Apple Watch. Thought Google purchase will fix the repeated inconsistency and glitches in FB but it’s gotten worse

Mine seems to show up on the watch and disappear in the late morning or
afternoon. Very disappointed that fitbit hasn't addressed all the issues
that have surfaced on this latest update.

I think that Fitbit has their time clock set wrong for resets. Sleep score shows up in the morning, then disappears at noon. Fitbit may be reading the noon as 12 AM and not 12 PM. They need to check their reset time settings!!’

Lasts all day every day.

I tried chatting again with customer service yesterday. I got the same
results from them, NOTHING! It's time to move past fitbit and find another
product with better customer service.

After a long stretch of working perfectly, my Charge 5 began showing "no data" for sleep information a few days ago. It no longer syncs with my android phone, whereas it had been doing great until earlier this week. This has happened previously but I was able to follow all the restart from the Fitbit screen and then by plugging it to the charger cord, pressing 3x in 8 seconds, uninstalling the Fitbit app, undoing Bluetooth-redoing Bluetooth, answering all the Privacy questions with Allow (to get the app going), etc. Today, I've done the "Bluetooth Pairing and Linking" screen "Try again" perhaps 30 times. Bluetooth is on, Wifi is strong, Phone and Fitbit are fully charged. All permissions require are highlighted with "Allow," and I just don't know what else to do. Is there hope for my Fitbit and the app? The watch itself is counting steps, showing heartrate, monthly cycle and exercise, but won't sync for anything else. Please tell me what to do without erasing everything.

UPDATE: after many unsuccessful attempts to pair my usually reliable Charge 5 that suddenly couldn't pair up this past week, I tried all the usual methods, it's now working again! My last attempt was to shut down/power off my phone for 30 minutes, then back on. Opened the Fitbit app and tried again to pair up. It acted almost completely differently this time. Took a few minutes, and asked some questions about giving Fitbit the ability to take over this and that on my phone...screens I have never before seen, but, I gave the green light and it all straightened out, and my sleep information, etc. was restored all the way back to last Wednesday when it had stopped. Maybe this information will help others; if nothing seems to be working, try completely shutting down/powering off your phone for half an hour, then try again.
