Hi. I noticed yesterday that my charge 5 was not syncing to my phone. I tried to resync it several times and it did not update on the phone. Now in the past when something like this happened, I was able to unpair the Charge 5 and re-pair it. I un-paired it, but I could not re-pair it. I tried all the normal troubleshooting. I reset the Fitbit, I turned off and turned on the bluetooth on the phone, I tried turning off the phone and turning it back on, I tried uninstalling the fitbit app & reinstalling it but nothing happens. When I look at the available devices under the bluetooth setting, I see the charge 5, but when I try to find it within the app, it can't find it. It just keeps searching. Right now, it's been searching for 20 minutes with no results. Did something change recently that would cause this or do I just need to bite the bullet and get a new fitbit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
For the record, I have a Samsung A-13 phone running android 14. My fitbit app version is the latest on the android play store and it was last updated on Oct 10th.

Samsung A 13 stopped syncing 3 days ago. Fitbit support person Carl took me through all the troubleshooting steps. When none of the troubleshooting steps worked Carl hung up on me.

Well, after fiddling around for a while I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app and was successful in pairing it to my Motorola Android phone again. So, finally all is good. Still very frustrating and Google tried again twice to get me to move to Google instead of using the Fitbit app. I'm still sceptical of Google's intensions. I just get frustrated that monopolies think they know what is best for us and then decide to take away choice to increase their bottom ine and decrease our experience.

Hi there everyone! So nice to see you here in the Fitbit Community!
Thank you so much to all for informing us about this situation about your Fitbits not syncing and for all your efforts!
Our tech team is working on it. I'm sorry for all the inconveniences this has caused. Please check if you can install the 4.28.1 version. This should appear in the following days.

Hi Fatima
Thank you for your response to all these problems we all have been dealing with. I have 1 question though. Will this fix that is being addressed in the latest update also correct the problem some of us (myself included) are having with pairing up our Charge 5's to the app? Myself, I have been having problems pairing my Fitbit to my Samsung A13 phone. The fitbit shows up in the list of devices seen by the phone when I look in the settings, but when I try to pair it within the app, it never finds it. Was this addressed in this fix?

I have followed all this advice and now my phone cannot find the charge 5 to pair with it.
Edit: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now it can find the charge 5 but pairing still does no work. I keep getting a try again message: turn off bluetooth and on again, restart charge 5, make sure it is charging. Have done all these multiple times, still no luck... what a waste of a Sunday afternoon!
Any other advice?

I believe this problem we are having is system wide fitbit problem not just charge 5. I think it is time a fitbit representative is upfront about what is going on.

I am having the same issue as everyone. It stopped working on 10/20/2024. I jumped through all the hoops and wouldn't synch. Uninstalled Fitbit, reinstalled, disconnected Charge 5, and now trying to pair it up again for 3 days and it won't pair. I am so screwed with work for my steps for my health insurance.

Just to let you know that you probably have around 6 months to decide if you're going to stay with Fitbit.
On 11 Apr 2023, there was an announcement about transitioning Fitbit accounts to Google (<-- click link). Migrating to a Google account will be required for all Fitbit users in 2025. Although the article doesn't mention the timing, it may be as soon as the end of the first quarter, 30 Mar 2025.
Most likely, there will be emails to users who haven't migrated as well as forum announcements.

Well...I give up. Downloaded the new version of the app. Now this time, the app is finding my CHarge 5, but it now won't connect properly to it. I spent about an hour trying to get this to work, but it just isn't happening. Then I had a thought. I still have my old phone (A Samsung A20) that still has an old version of the Android on it (version 11). So I tried and was successful in loading the app on this phone. I WAS successful in pairing my CHarge 5 to this phone and I was able to sync it up. So...for the time being, I'll just use this old phone to manage my fitbit. I'll keep trying to get my A13 to work. Hopefully sometime in the future, things will get fixed, but at least I have a workaround.

I am in the same boat as you, almost to the day. Same phone, same android update, up to date phone and fit bit app. I can get the fit bit with some fighting to sync with an A12 phone I still have. So I bought a Charge 6 thinking my old fit bit was done for, but it will also not pair with my phone.

I have seen multiple (like a real lot) of threads about this. Seems there are various degrees of success. I have upgraded and Uninstalled/Reinstalled 4.28.1 (android) multiple times and still can't add my charge 5. The interface seems to change from the old screen to the new , sometimes it seems to find it, sometimes not, but always fails. Have tried all the phone restart, cache clear and factory reset of tracker ad-nausium. So I don't think this is fixed with 4.28.1. Today is Monday- am I alone?

By the way, I don't have an old phone to try. I shouldn't have to do this 😫!!!!!!

Hello all
Please see the Moderator's post from today (29 Oct 2024) on this thread (<-- click link). She states that the fix is rolling out in app version 4.28.2.
The app updates usually roll out in waves. Keep checking the Play Store for the update and install it when it's available for you.
If you're still seeing the syncing issue after installing the update, please let us know.
