Anyone has experienced how to stop the notification to add card in Charge 5? I don’t intend to activate card in Charge 5 wallet, and it becomes annoying this notification prompts each time we sync the device.

I just followed someones advice on here and let the battery run down, then removed the device from my list of devices. When it was charged up again, I added it to my “list” and for about 12 hours now it’s been normal. I’ll give you report if it starts doing that horrible add card thing again.
I’vemissed wearing my Fitbit but it’s been un usable. Let’s hope removing from devices and adding it back again helps.

Hello, just started to experience this in July 2023, any chance this was actually ever resolved??

I'd say there's a snowball's chance in Hell that they resolve it.

Same here. Haven't had it for a year yet. The "add a card " message is happening a lot!! It also gets stuck on steps, and doesn't count them, when I am moving.

Get that replaced under warranty ASAP while you still can. Mine started doing that just the month after the 12 months warranty was up. All that Google/Fitbit could do to help was to kindly offer me a 35% off voucher for a replacement /s.
Looking at the reports, it seems very likely to be a software problem, but Fitbit cannot or won't fix it, they would rather you spend more with them for another device. My Versa 2 also stopped working soon after the warranty period was up, blank screen. I bought the Charge 5 after that, my mistake, won't be giving them any more of my money.

this fault is very annoying and should have been resolved by now. It’s getting to the point where I will stop using it

My wife is the one that had the Charge 5. She gave up on it. She did stick with Fitbit for her replacement though. When looking for her next tracker, she picked one without the Fitbit Pay bug, er, feature. She got an Inspire 3. She's much happier. She stuck with Fitbit because she's used to the app and those features.
My conspiracy theory is they cannot add an option to turn off Fitbit Pay because they are getting money from banks and such to have it enabled. Conspiracy theories are not true science, but they can be fun and silly! I'm almost angrier at tech reporting still touting the Charge 5 as a great fitness tracker.
Anyway, if there is any new fix, I still have the Charge 5 and I can try to add some data points on whether it works or not.

This started happening to mine about a week after having it for over a year. Now it won't stay charged because it's spamming this notice repeatedly. I can't even look at the standard watch face when I want to anymore.
This is ridiculous.

So? It's been eight months, and I see no further response. This is clearly a common issue--and a serious one. From one day to the next, my Charge 5 has become essentially useless. What is the fix? If there isn't one, are you still looking into it? Some transparency would be nice here.

I shared your frustration and was going to bin the annoying thing. I think however it is now resolved - no help to Fitbit - I looked into account and removed Cards and then removed Charge 5 from phone and re-loaded. So far so good!
Good luck

Has anyone tried returning the Fitbit to where it was bought for a refund. It’s next to useless with this constant Add Card error and battery draining everyday. I have an extended warranty that is still valid so thinking of returning it

If you can return it to the place you purchased it, then I would. Fitbit appear to have no interest in fixing the bug, and at best will offer you 35% off a new device.

My wife's charge 5 just started doing this, but mine is not. They were bought at the same time. I have done the updates on both and both have the same settings. This is annoying because it temporarily locks up her charge 5. I've had Fitbits for awhile now, but I may have to look at other options. Please advise a fix for this. I do not want to add credit cards to our Fitbits. Thank you.
