How to stop add card notification?

Anyone has experienced how to stop the notification to add card in Charge 5?  I don’t intend to activate card in Charge 5 wallet, and it becomes annoying this notification prompts each time we sync the device.

It seems Fitbit support is not listening at all to issues like this. I only got my charge 5 recently and already the add card message is hugely irritating.
tried the deactivation and stopping notifications altogether but like you ( and others am still stuck with it.

Has there been a resolution to this?  Its popping up to add a card every 5-10 seconds now.  Its making the charge 5 useless.

This problem of the add card notification was a problem since the LAST firmware update as I raised the same frustration just after that was pushed out. See my post over 6 months ago, and it still hasn’t been resolved with this subsequent release?

I'm now getting this vibrating message every time I move my wrist including during the night when it's on DND.  I've owned a Fitbit for 8 years and this may be the last one I own. The first question about the problem was August 2022 and it's now January 2023 and Fitbit have done nothing. That is not acceptable.

This is ridiculous. Fix the bugs or refund my purchase.

sorry this did not work - still getting add card notifications but the online dashboard says I have no notifications

. seems needs to go back to the tech team but your efforts to share appreciated

First day with my Charge 5 and this is very annoying!! I was able to Deactivate Fitbit Pay following your steps. Thank you! 🤞🏻 It will work.

------------

First day with my Charge 5 after having a Charge 3 for 4 years without any issues. This “Add Card to wallet” notification is unacceptable.

May I ask why you mark your answer as Best Answer in both threads when it doesn’t provide a work around or solution?

------------

Thank you for the information - it’s helpful but I’m sure you agree all these steps are unacceptable coming from a company like Google. Thank you again for all your help to alleviate this frustrating “glitch.”

------------

I also agree that this is intentional. They think they can wear us down, we’ll cave and just add our card. For a large tech company such as Google, this type of run-around is unacceptable.

My Charge 3 has none of these issues for 4+ years, tiles a charge and works well. After one day with my Charge 5, I’m ready to return it!

So- after multiple suggestions and actions, including disabling card section on the online dashboard I am still being plagued by these add card messages. They occur every time I open the app and at other random times - even after I have gone to bed. The charge 5 buzzes I look at it and grrrr it’s add card again. I’m
This really is not acceptable and the tech team need to sort it as a matter of urgency. Thanks

It happens to me too and it’s driving me beserk. Did you work out how to solve the problem?

Same! I hate that I have to charge my watch twice a day!!!

Best Answer

I solved it by using the chat service and reporting my frustration. My Fitbit was 11 months old so I've had a new one sent to me as under guarantee. Bliss, no buzzing every 5 minutes.

Thanks! I’ll do thaf tomorrow, I think!

hi, it’s been months since the original posts and we seem no nearer the tech team getting it solved. Can you give them a prod?

Same problem. Have had Charge 5 for five months. This drains the battery to the point where it only lasts a few hours. I was already wary of upgrading my Charge 2 to the 5 because of the acquisition by you know who. This is definitely my last fitbit purchase.

"Deactivating fitbit pay" does absolutely nothing. It simply removes cards that are saved. I have never used fitbit pay nor added any cards. I want the entire option from the device menu removed.

I’ve had my Charge 5 since only 1/9/23 and still have time to return it at no charge. Should I return it??!!
Yep, I know “who” and it’s upsetting and manipulative.

Take a pi tire of it happening, sync your Fitbit a couple of times each day and message them on their chat. Show the pic and say you’d like a replacement. They’ll want to walk you through various steps. Do it but keep them on the chat the whole time. I lost my sh*t after the third chat and they immediately offered to replace it.

It's really a difficult task to wear a wristband continuously vibrating and showing all the time the notification to add a card. So annoying!
