Why not? it has GPS, Charge 4 has Weather app. Screen should be big enough.

I can't see any mention of a weather app, but I don't think that means it definitely doesn't have one. The user manual hasn't been published yet, so hopefully in the meantime this is something a Fitbit member of staff can shed some light on.

The charge 4 does have a weather app, I see no reason why the 5 would not. But then Fitbit decisions in the past made users confused.

Considering that Luxe doesn't have a weather app either I wouldn't be surprised if also Charge 5 ditched it

I disagree @Giampi71 the Luxe is a basic low option tracker, where the Charge 5 has more options and sensors.
In either case, only time will tell.

And... Surprise! (Well, not so much for me). Weather is not included in.the latest and features packed tracker by Fitbit

This is really disappointing. I was looking forward to having weather (on a color screen!) since it's available on the Charge 4. I hope the Agenda app makes it. I have a Charge 2, so the C5 is an upgrade, but if I had a C4, I'm not sure I would "upgrade."
Edited to add: This post confirms no weather app on the Charge 5: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/Charge-5-info-about-its-features/m-p/4961532/highlight/true...

I know it is disappointing for some people that the weather app is not available on the Charge 5. I personally do not check it on my Sense because I get more information, the ability to check more locations and not having to squint when I check the weather app on my Pixel 3XL. Perhaps this feature will be added in an update if enough people complain? I am more concerned about when the ECG app will be available. I hope like with the Sense release that it will be approved by the FDA soon after launch.

It's dawning on me that the Charge 5 is not really part of the Charge line or a successor to the Charge 4. It's really a Luxe XL with added Spo2 and ECG. Things like the weather app, Spotify, and the agenda app are not sensor/hardware dependent, but only depend on a few weeks or months of developers' time. And it looks like Fitbit is not willing to make that investment.
Why? Maybe Fitbit OS is really at EoL (End of Life) and the next set of watches/trackers will use a version of WearOS.
Is the Charge 5 just off-the-shelf, leftover Luxe guts with a bigger screen? Just a Luxe XL?
Edited to add: The Charge 5 also has GPS and Fitbit Pay, while the Luxe does not. So it's a Luxe XL with GPS, Fitbit Pay and ECG.

@kingRidiculous the Luxe is suppose to be a low end product.
As previous mentioned, there have been leaks that Wear OS is coming to a fitbit. Possibly in October 2021. Mac World puts the release in Late September.

I made a Google Sheet where I keep track of the features of the most recent Fitbit devices.
You should all be able to access from this link if you need.
I also created a feature ratio that practically assigns the same weight to an individual feature.
Fitbit Sense has a feature ratio of 92% (because even the current top of line device of Fitbit has some regressions compared to the previous devices, namely the lack of music storage and the lack of Fiind my device (Tile), surprisingly implemented only on the entry level Inspire 2).
You can see that Charge 4 has a FR=67% while the brand new Charge 5 has a FR of only 58%. This says everything on the compromises done by Fitbit for its top of the line tracker.
For comparison the supposedly low end product Luxe (as labelled by @Rich_Laue, although I don't see the price much low end) has a FR=46% while the entry level Inspire 2 33%

I have to say it's quite disappointing to hear of such omissions. To me it seems as though we are being given a nice bright coloured display, but then having all the content removed that can take advantage of it.
I do agree with the Luxe being a low end tracker in terms of features. Although this definitely doesn't seem to be how Fitbit market it, in fact the name Luxe is supposed to stand for Luxury. The following excerpt can be found (here) from the Fitbit press release. The word Jewelry is used no fewer than 4 times, which many would associate with a premium type product. I think as @Giampi71 points out, the price is anything but low end.
"An elegant wearable that feels at home on your wrist
Luxe’s breakthrough design has a soft, gentle shape inspired by the human body that sits lightly on your wrist with a jewelry-like look and feel. Fitbit applied a modern take on traditional jewelry-making techniques using an innovative design process called metal injection molding to create Luxe’s stainless steel case, providing the warmth expected of handcrafted jewelry, all while delivering a level of precision needed to enable its advanced sensor technology. The result is one of Fitbit’s most fashionable and comfortable devices yet, designed for a diverse range of wrist sizes and skin tones for 24/7 wear. To produce the high polish synonymous with jewelry, Fitbit used a metal vaporizing technique on the soft gold and platinum finishes to provide a truly premium look and feel."

I am supremely disappointed that my new Charge 5 does not have a weather app! I used it extensively on the Charge 3. Please, Fitbit developers, add that app for us!

Have you thought about voting and adding your comments where they would help.
Yes I know it makes one feel good to discuss this amongst yourselves, but this should be done in the feature request board.
