Hello Samarka,
Our issue has just been resolved. It was an upgrade for my wife from a charge five to a charge six. In our case she had to make sure that the Fitbit app on her phone was the new upgrade, basically deleting the old app and just installing the new one. We tried to use her old e mail address which google did not really like, we had a logo box telling her that "it looked like the e mail was used on multiple accounts, so was blocked". unsure what that meant but it turned out that the same e mail was used for another google product that she does not use anymore. We were able to put in a request to reinstall.
My advice if it helps, is to go through the process again, re do the password if unsure go right through the process again until you get to the box which gives you the option of requesting a review. I did three over the course of a month and they finally reinstalled yesterday and we were finally able to log in yesterday.
I think overall the new Fitbit regime has to review how its product now works, as I have stated before there are 37 million users many of which have to switch over by google by 2025. If just a small proportion have ANY issues with the change over then the Fitbit support team will be swamped.
Fitbit / google have to understand that not all who use this app are from an IT background and something which seems simple to them may not be so for others.
I wont risk switching over to google myself until I have to consider it in 2025 and only then if I look in here and there are NO problems, my wife has LOST almost five weeks of service because of this.
Good luck,

@BigDaddy14 im not sure which of the many issues mentioned above that you are experiencing.
Yes, a user has to log in with their Google account to be able to add a Charge 6. What error message are you seeing.
Do you have an active google account? When switching over to a google account, you do not change your login email, but tap on the google button. The chose your Google account from the list

@Rich_Laue .Thank you for the link for Google migration. Looks like I will be done with Fitbit when this happens. Telling me that I can ONLY use Google mail for my account is too authoritarian. Add that to the changes with the system update that made the device useless to me anyway. Maybe it's time to move to a different device. Thanks again for the info.

Same here, been loyal fan of Fitbit since the HR series. Can't activate
my new Charge 6. Not worth all the hassle and definitely not changing
phones. Come 2025 I will be tossing my Charge 2,4,5 and never used 6
with Versa 1,2,3 and 4 in the trash. Using Charge 4 above ankle for steps
and miles only now with Apple 8 on wrist and Ultrahuman Air Ring on index.
Will miss my Fitbits. Google, take this middle finger.

Yeah, I have taken my charge 6 to Goodwill. I cannot login a new device under Fitbit, my old device has failed.

@Nawtykitty no one is telling you that you can only use Google email. Google says that you still have to log in through your Google account. The two ways are not the same.
Up until now, we have been logging into our Fitbit account through an email that we have access to. Could be a Google email or not a Google email. Since Google now owns fitbit, Google has decided that they want users to log in to their google/Fitbit account with their Google account.
Their really is no difference. You wouldn't log into your Amazon account with an ebay account.

I am not sure that I understand your point.
"Their really is no difference. You wouldn't log into your Amazon account with an ebay account. "
I have a gmail account, that is the only kind of Google account that I know of. I cannot transfer my Fitbit to my gmail account. As a result, I am not able to add a new device to my Fitbit account. My Charge 4 has failed, I bought a Charge 6 that I cannot link to my Fitbit account.
"no one is telling you that you can only use Google email. Google says that you still have to log in through your Google account. The two ways are not the same. " So how are you going to do with out a gmail account??

it does not allow you to start Versa 6 in my current Fitbit account. It forces to change to Google. But when you try to do that and use the Google account you already have, it says you cannot use it because it is already taken! Of course, it is taken by me! I just want to start my Charge 6. If this closed loop cannot be solved I will have to return the Charge 6 and leave Fitbit because my previous Versa 4 is dead. Any ideas?

@EugenioDB do you have a second fitbit accoint that might be logged in through Google? If so you may need to contact Fitbit.
Are you following these instructions. There is a video to help with.

Me too , tried all manner of means. Chucking my year old fit bit never buying another. Rather spend 40£ on a new one every year that works with my apple 15
