Use iPhone instead of only computer to pull up a Group I created. Looking forward to the day you can do that. Thank you. Keep up the Great work! Fitbit is the Best!
Please add a Houston Group in the Fitbit app! Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States and the largest city in the Southern US. We're a major port, with the nation's best medical center, not to mention fine art and a huge food scene. We're also an international city, with residents and visitors from all over the world. It's ridiculous that our fair city gets passed over when many much smaller cities have their own groups on Fitbit. Having an Austin group and no Houston group is like having Albany but skipping NYC. Please correct this oversight! Thanks!
I'm really surprised that after 3 years of this request, there's still no apparent movement on making this happen.
My family and I just setup a group and would love to be able to access it via the app (Android and Windows10). It really shouldn't be that hard to get this in place.
I am 25 years old woman who has been struggling with mental health challenges for most of my life. I have found that having a supportive community to talk to helps with my mental health. Individuals who are in a situation similar to mine may have increased difficulty in finding and maintaining the motivation to stay fit. I truly feel that if there was a group for mental health it would catch the attention of many Fitbit members, as it would provid a safe environment to obtain emotional support and motivation during those really rough points in life.
I just read over this suggestion and am aware that I made a few errors in my English and grammar. I just wanted to appologize, as English is my first language and i do take pride in my knowledge of the English language. If there was a way to edit this post I would, however, I have yet to find an 'edit' button. So, instead I decided to include this comment to be sure that people do realize that i am aware of the errors.
Fitbit is in dire need of software and app development. This is far lagging as compared to their product development. For example, work wellness champions need to be able to crate custom challenges for their staff. This functionality is beyond critical. without being able to create groups (greater than 10!!!! people) and view it on their phone app, employees are not likely to participate and the fitbit becomes a glorified watch and looses the intent for which it was marketed as....
This is a great idea, I hope this feature is updated quickly. What better way to start the healthy year with custom groups with friends on the app so it is much easier to help and keep each other motivated!
I created several groups of friends, people from my gym, and a few coworkers, but not being able to use on a mobile device makes it pointless. Why even have this feature online?
I think that the Fitbit website and the Fitbit app should be more cohesive. For example: users cannot create or discover many groups on the app but they can on the website, and users cannot view their joined groups on the website while they can on the app. Please revisit the whole design of the website and app with the focus on organisation, ease of use, and logic.
Currently you cannot access personal groups from the app only the fitbit pre-existing ones. Also you can only invite people by email which is private for fitbit users
Please make it possible to see and use custom groups via the app. You have created a great app but to have to go to a desktop to use your own group seems like a step to far...
Chiming in with my support for this, especially given the app now has a groups section there is an easy place to put it. Without it the activity groups are pretty useless as I expect most users stick solely to the app.
This is the same suggestion as "Activity groups displayed on app". The combined interest on this would put it to the top of the charts. Should be a no brainer. If something doesnt happen soon, might as well dump my fitbit. Too bad.
My sister, mother, and I aredoing a 10k in May and live in different parts of the US. We thought originally of creating a challenge between the three of us to encourage our training. However, Fitbit only allows canned challenges that are already created. So instead, we created a Custom Activity Group. However, we can not see the group from our phone, which is very frustrating if we want to message each other or see how we are doing compared to one another.
But even more frustrating, is thatwithin the custom group, we can only see what each other has done for the week. We can't set specific goals or challenges. We all love our fitbits as a watch and what they are capable of doing, but the community aspect needs a lot of work, as that is one of the fun parts of owning this watch vs another brand.
