Ok, I have tried everything, short of totally "burning down the house" -- doing a factory reset with the Ionic, deleting it from my Fitbit account, uninstalling every instance of the Fitbit software, and then hoping that it might magically make the Weather app work if I start everything from scratch. I have tried everything short of that, and it simply, utterly will not work when I try to input a city name, and it will not work with my phone's current location. My Weather app is as dead as a piece of software can be dead.
So, does anyone have it working properly? I would like to know if it actually works halfway well, before I destroy everything else that I've got working. And could you also describe how it works? I have the following questions:
How and when does it sync? I presume it syncs with your phone, and presumably via Bluetooth. Is that correct, or might it only sync with whatever Wi-Fi connection you used to set the Ionic up with, to begin with? And if it does sync via Bluetooth on your phone, how often does it sync? Is the frequency something you can set?
Mainly, I'm wondering if you can pop into the Weather app, and halfway reliably see what the local temperature is outdoors. If it only syncs once per hour or less frequent, then I'm not so sure it would be worth the effort.
And so on. Thanks in advance for letting me know how it works, because I really dread going through the factory reset routine, because I went through a nightmare to get my Ionic set up to begin with. I really don't want to go through that, if it's not likely to work, or if the app is actually quite lame, and not worth the effort to begin with.
Thanks again!

After a lot of resets, edits and reading forums, the solution for me was to change the privacy on my iPhone. The Fitbit app needs the have location info on ‘always’. It instantly worked after I changed it.

The whole problem is my All Day Sync doesn’t work & I want it to. It will sync manually only when I go into the app. But at that time when it syncs, it the weather reading is there for a while & then later disappears & says thy I need to try syncing it with my phone. So obviously the All Day Sync doesn’t work. I have tried many different suggestions, including your resetting the location & privacy & that did not work either. But thank you for the input.

Hello @Nanabev8! Thanks for making sure that you always have All-Day Sync on. Nice way to go!
As I suggested in one of my previous posts, something that happened to me was that changes done on the Fitbit app on my iPhone were not being synced with the Charger 3.
What I tried was going to General>Reset>Reset Location & Privacy on my iPhone, and then everything started working. Now it's fixed and I can start seeing the Weather on my 'Location'.
If you have an Android, you can go to the settings and find for this.
Hope that helps!

These instructions are the ones from the Fitbit help pages. They are actually no help at all. I’ve had my Versa for almost a year and the weather app has NEVER worked. I’ve got background refresh, location services, cellular data, and every other thing ON that it has asked for and It.Still.Does.Not.Work!!!
I bought my husband a Versa for his birthday and his weather app has always worked. What it the solution to get it to work?!?!?!

Hello, My Ionic has recently been struck with the same malady regarding the Weather - "Sync the Fitbit mobile app to update" -
Additionally the sleep data displayed on my watch is also dated (night before last) if at all -
Paired with a Samsung S7 ,,,,,,

I agree with JR-Fire. The update in October of last year messed up the Accuweather app.

Hello there @Bigpickney and @OFunky!, thanks for stopping by! If the weather app is still not working, make sure you have background app refresh enabled:
Then, I'd recommend restarting your Fitbit devices one more time, but this time make sure you have the weather app open when the devices restarted.
If you're also having issues with your sleep tracking @Bigpickney, as you know, sleep stages are based on heart rate data, so make sure that you're getting a solid heart rate reading , since sleep stages requires consistent HR. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight. Also, double check that your watch is charged up.
Additionally, I'd recommend checking the following that could be preventing you from receiving sleep stages:
For more information about why you see your sleep pattern, tap or click the sleep record that shows your sleep pattern.
Hello there @Larryi! Thanks for sharing the clock face that you've found useful.
Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Resetting the Location & Privacy settings on my iPhone did it for me. (Such that the Fitbit app re-asked for location access and tracker access.) Prior to that, the Weather app never worked, yet the My Agenda app and others did.

Hi, I have an Iconic Fitbit which I love. However, yesterday I uploaded the updates to my fitbit and now the Weather App is shown in Celsius but I prefer Fahrenheit. I tried doing what is stated in the message above, however the applications that come up are like giving permission to Humana 365 for my numbers as well as AARP. nothing more nothing less. How can I fine this elusive Weather App?
