New Dashboard App - Pause

Taking a break from FITBIT till I see what happens.  I was going to upgrade.  I'm holding off on that.  If they are going to start charging for something (Premium App) that was included with sign up I will be out.  Going back to my old way of tracking and going to research new device.  I have a feeling this may be the sign of the times with FITBIT.  Pausing for now.

I can understand your view but just wanted to comment about the premium service. In their FAQ they say:

Q: Have any previously existing Fitbit features moved behind a Premium paywall?

A: No. All the Fitbit app features you enjoyed before Premium are still available for free, and we’ll continue to add new free features in the future. Fitbit Premium adds new paid features, but does not remove any previously free features.

Thank you, but I would have to disagree.

Yes the features are there but the presentation has changed with the "new upgrade".  The entire look is awkward.  I think FITBIT is missing the point of what users are saying.  The set up of the old App was what most liked about it.  Most users do not like the new App.  Face it is all about the $..  That's fine for FITBIT but I don't like the way they handled the switch.  Jeez how ignorant do they think users are? The made the change received FREE marketing research from their current users, and now will sell the most popular features back to them.  Good Luck.  I'm not impressed, still going to Pause.

I hate the new app and I'm glad I'm not the only one ....        I had been thinking about switching devices  for awhile now and now that Samsung Gear is looking far more enticing.     At least their app is user friendly.    And, you can make calls on the device ...

The way forward will probably be to look elsewhere. I certainly won’t be buying another Fitbit, looking at Garmin or Samsung currently. Fitbit aren’t really interested in what we think of the app, all they respond with is that our views have been passed on but there are no plans to revert back to the old more user friendly layout. There was another thread on here about the same thing but a moderator closed it last night saying it was going “off topic” obviously the truth hurts. However Fitbit have started pushing the premium app, I’ve received emails about it already. I’ve payed for my watch, I’m NOT paying to use it.
